U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

Happy slightly belated 90th birthday to the Douglas DC-3, an airplane whose impact on the world of aviation is hard to over-estimate.

Virtually every major airline in existence today operated it either directly or somewhere in its lineage, from launch customer American to KLM to Ethiopian.

Six hundred classic DC-3s were made (+ over 10k C47s), and the airplane was technically replaced by the DC-4 in '42.

Yet as of today there are more DC3s operating commercially than every other Douglas aircraft type put together.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is using her final moments as a politician to once again attack trans kids.

To every weirdo who tried to paint her as someone suddenly fighting fascism: this is who she always will be.

A fascist

On this day in 1935, the DC-3 first took flight. From ushering in passenger air travel to a leading role in WWII to remaining a workhorse in the world’s most inhospitable climates 90 years later, the DC-3 continues to be a true aviation icon.

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->

Still in awe of the people of Chicago. Trump and his party spent so much time trying to get them to give him some sliver of fake reason to do the insurrection act, and there was so much discipline from the Chicago area: sustained resistance, while not giving trump what he wanted

Truly impressive

If DOD claims its aircraft was in dangerous airspace and thus did not want to give away its position, then DOD needs to explain why JetBlue was unaware of the airspace danger.

And again, the military waiver from ADS-B req in DCA was for national security.

It can be a convenient DOD designation.
A JetBlue pilot changed elevation to avoid colliding with a U.S. Air Force plane in the southern Caribbean on Friday, he told air traffic controllers.

The New York-bound flight was leaving the island of Curaçao, just north of the Venezuelan coast.

The more coverage if this, the better.

There needs to be tremendous pressure on DOD to explain what the hell happened & why the most basic piece of equipment in the aircraft - a transponder - was not in use.

One argument I used to make to my students about why it was important to learn history (and historical thinking) is that someone was always going to be trying to tell you things were natural or had always been this way and that you needed to be able to see that as an exercise of power.
