Anyway if you, an American, truly want to actually do something to get ahead of the actual social phenomenon this actually is symptomatic of: watch like a hawk what this administration is doing to indigenous people already under its control
Aggression towards Greenland does of course sit squarely in the list of "things America has done before" it's just that those things were last done in 1900.

This was obvious after J6. Once someone attempts an insurrection they are not your party colleague but an enemy of the state and you should want them jailed for life as a minimum.
The US has a 25th Amendment and an impeachment process but because cowardice is the defining characteristic of modern right wing politics, neither of these things will be exercised, even as this is the most glaring example of their being needed.
If this text is real (no reason to think it isn’t) we have to accept that the only solution here is Congress doing its job. He cannot be a president in this deteriorating mental state. But Congress won’t act.

If the figures we're getting out of Iran are in the right league, this weekend was, I think, one of the bloodiest state crackdowns of all time. People are talking 12,000-20,000 dead; for comparison Hungary in 1956 was about 2,500, Tiananmen - across country, in multiple cities - probably 1000+

we can agree this is absolutely the case while also recognizing in their haste to dehumanize her they willingly turned over evidence proving them to be liars
they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

One reason is that is by nature really exclusionary. You would struggle to think of a more class-coded thing than the Boxing Day hunts.
