Had a day off when all I did was wake up, have my morning run, go into central London, have lunch, see an art exhibition, have a boozy afternoon reading at a nice pub, and I’m going back via the supermarket to make dinner for my fiancée and people should to this sort of thing more often.

There’s a Dutch bloke sat next to me in the pub who has just dropped “Hbomberguy” and “Philosophy Tube” and “Plastic Paddies” in the same sentence I’m sorry it’s just not a real language.

I have a rare Monday off so I’ve gone into central and to avoid the rain gone to one of those increasingly rare cafes that has plastic gingham tablecloths, ketchup in a plastic tomato, and which serves exclusively beige food.

AI or not, the good thing about this jacket is that it contains nearly enough Tsingtao to get your nan who is recovering from a kidney transplant ever so slightly tipsy.
I for one will welcome our Chinese overlords #Beerjacket #China #Tsingtao

It will never not be funny that Truss is going to spend more time doing “stuff you have to do as a former PM” than she spent as actually being PM.

She was PM for 1176 hours. With the Queen’s funeral, the Coronation, three Remembrance Sundays (there’s a lunch) she’s up to about 48 already.
Lovely bit of side eye from Liz there

If you’re wondering what a “least weasel” is, they absolutely live up to the name. This is the least amount of animal you can have that can still meet the bar for “is weasel”

Genuinely barked out laughing at the 2008 Japanese cover for one of the Fighting Fantasy books. Apparently Ian Livingstone was not very impressed (original for context).

The artist in question is Yosai Kuchu, who amongst other things did Makai Tenshi Jiburīru which is one of *those* visual novels.

My favourite version of this is people moaning about the Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree because it’s “sparse” or “spindly” and make out that it’s a coded insult for Brexit/Socialism/Wokes.
Yes! One of my favourite times of year, the inaugural "crap Christmas tree" story. It's not quite as special as the first "shit Winter Wonderland" one, but it's nearly there.
