Evil Resident in the White House?

You mean...

President Evil?

Feeling down about the Evil Resident in 10 Downing Street/the White House/insert other governmental residence here? Why not take your mind off it by thinking about - *gunshot*
We're back with a one off poll ahead of Resident Evil's 30th anniversary next month.

Rank as many mainline (see image for what counts) Resident Evil games as you wish. If you strongly dislike a game, it is better not to rank it at all.

If you need help ranking, see follow-up tweet

My Resident Evil Requiem prediction is that at some point a secret facility will self-destruct.

Watching Andor with the rents, finally just caught up to where I got to when I binged it whilst Season 1 was still being released ("never more than 12"). Never got round to watching the rest

I'm ok with (or have made my peace with) a bit of editing after you've taken a photo, but the cameras that manipulate the image before even saving it cross a line imho

One of my more pessimistic beliefs is phone photos won't be acceptable as evidence in court by the end of the decade
This reminds me, I hate how common it is now to advertise phone cameras with features that defeat the point of a photo being to capture a specific moment in time
My number one hobby is ruining event’s “in the moment” photos by smiling directly at the camera

He seems cool, but please can he stop shortening sticky toffee pudding to “STP”?
“I’ve reviewed over 50 sticky toffee puddings” is an incredibly powerful way to begin a video

I have a DSLR specifically because phone camera auto-processing is so overwhelming to the experience of taking a photo

I used to love taking photos as a kid, but when phones became the replacement for entry-level photography it wasn't the same, and until I borrowed a DSLR I didn't realise quite why

Incidentally, this has reminded me of when I got blocked on here for arguing with the David Graeber Institute that "Logistics Manager" wasn't a "bullshit job". I hope every one of them is waiting on a vital package from Southern Texas.
All this speculation about the potential horrid things the airspace closure around El Paso could signifiy, and all I can think of is the logistics managers having the *worst* day and week of their lives.

I'm still deeply sceptical, tbh, I just also recognise the exact same groupthink that leads BlueSky to be collectively wrong about other things
From replies to this, I do think BlueSky AI scepticism is massively overcorrecting, and there's also a fair amount of delusion that the hurt from the bubble popping will fall squarely on the companies responsible, rather than just being a brutal global recession
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

99.9% sure he got that 58 million figure from the population of England and forgetting there's a difference
Well done to Sky for correcting this bit of ignorance.

As shown extensively in the Epstein files there's plenty of proof that being rich doesn't mean you have any great insights into the world.

Yes, in the UK it isn't a naive and/or insane liberal policy but a decision by a chain of consequent governments to starve and erode police and justice systems in exchange for voters' tax cuts.
Is it? They don’t really exist in the UK. It’s fun and I’m all for it on the basis, but it can also be self-soothing for ignoring who the pro-crime forces in the UK actually are.

Thinking about it, what bugs me is when people truly believe in the most extreme predictions of the impact of AI, but also think the solution are things like UBI, which becomes much less feasible if the number of people paying tax is drastically and permanently reduced
I am conscious that AI sceptics, myself included, on this website are very prone to groupthink and confirmation bias, but every time I see a tweet like "this is a revolution and you have no idea what's coming", it's like... okay, so what exactly do you want me to do?

(This tweet is 9 months old. A big clue is that it literally says it right there next to the handle)
On Tuesday, Starmer's political director briefed Labour MPs on how government plans to fight Reform. She said:

- Reform voters are "our people" but "pissed off" with the state of the country
- At Runcorn, Farage mobilised habitual non-voters, while Labour voters stayed at home
- Comms must improve
Top Starmer Aide: Reform Voters Are 'Labour People' – They're Just 'Pissed Off'
Reform UK voters are “our people” but are “pissed off” with Keir Starmer’s government, Labour’s political director has said.

Okay, so is the general consensus that the Despair Arc is leagues better than the Future Arc? 'cos, ironically, I despair every time it switches to the Future Arc
A few episodes into Danganronpa 3 (the sequel anime, not the game)

Thoughts on the Future Arc so far: Boy, you can really tell Zero Escape was made by the same company

Thoughts on the Despair Arc so far: what the fuck?
Started with the adaptation of the first game, and it's making me appreciate how well localised the game was. Stuff like translating "Super High School Level" to "Ultimate". It loses some of its meaning, but the more accurate translation in English is just a mouthful
