Wanted to do a "Games I've played" thread for this year. So, err, this is the starting post

A few episodes into Danganronpa 3 (the sequel anime, not the game)

Thoughts on the Future Arc so far: Boy, you can really tell Zero Escape was made by the same company

Thoughts on the Despair Arc so far: what the fuck?
Started with the adaptation of the first game, and it's making me appreciate how well localised the game was. Stuff like translating "Super High School Level" to "Ultimate". It loses some of its meaning, but the more accurate translation in English is just a mouthful

to be fair, not exactly great look that Starmer has spent almost a year sucking up to Trump who is arguably as prominent in those files as Epstein himself
February 9, 2026 at 11:10 PM
Anecdotal data: my Mum is unsure if Starmer should go or not, but it's largely out of a sense of confusion as to why the Epstein scandal is seeing a ton of fallout in Britain but not in America. I did point out to her that the fallout is more Europe-wide than just Britain, but I kinda get her point.

Given that Mahmood goes on to say the answer to Wilkinson’s question is that we definitely won’t be seeing anything like ICE, this is the absolute worst opener she possibly could have given. Ignorant and confrontational in order to vice signal to nobody at all.
Max Wilkinson (LibDem)
Will Home Sec condemn Trump’s ICE squads & reassure us that we will not see ICE squads on Britain's streets?

Shabana Mahmood (Labour)

Realising how much psychic damage TOW2 discussion did to me. I've seen the same amount of people claim "nothing changed from the first game" as people claiming "it's so different from the first game it may as well be a different series"
I rarely dip into the Outer Worlds subreddit nowadays because it depresses me, but this attitude is just so anti-art

Wes Streeting as (Deputy) Minister of Shiny Objects.
Keep him away from Culture too. Also the Home Office. And the Forei- Look, just make him Minister without Portfolio
February 9, 2026 at 7:10 PM
Does Wes have strong principles? No.
Does Wes have good political judgement? Also no.
Does Wes have any sort of winning charisma? Again, no.

But… is Wes the most unintentionally funny British politician going? Absolutely

Breaking: Wes Streeting produces further WhatsApp messages which reveal he’s a fan of that show you really like, agrees with you on that one continuous political issue, and really digs that top you’re wearing
February 9, 2026 at 6:41 PM
Oh this is so idiotically short-sighted. Put the blame for Mandelson where it belongs, with Mandelson..!

Starmer has more INTEGRITY than any world leader, and despite mistakes, he and his team, are doing a good job of IMPROVING THE COUNTRY AND providing the STABILITY the world needs right now.👍🌹🌿

Wes, this is your lawyer. I am advising you to keep posting this stuff.
BREAKING: Wes Streeting publishes his private WhatsApp messages with Peter Mandelson in apparent attempt to draw a line under their friendship. They reveal:

:: He feared being “toast at the next election” in his Ilford North seat, adding: “There isn’t a clear answer to the question: why Labour?”.
February 9, 2026 at 6:25 PM
Starmer: Whew, close one today but think the storm has calmed for now

the refusal by the Blair Government to be serious on English devolution reflects one of their bigger policy failures long-term

I just think had England devolved - in whatever form - we wouldn't have English politicians going insane about 'uppity scots' and polarising themselves into neofascism

Good news for the Starmer government: they’ve successfully improved the historical reputation of Ramsay MacDonald
A Labour MP remarks: "Starmer will go down as the worst PM in Labour history ... He’s a coward who refuses to take responsibility for his own actions. He is a moral gravity-well from which neither decency, honesty or integrity can escape. A genuine disaster for this country and the Labour movement.”

I feel like Corbynism has a coherent theory of why Blairism was bad whereas Starmer's crowd seem to be against it on vibes
February 9, 2026 at 4:33 PM
Problem with any anti-Starmer tweet that gets attention is I inevitably have to hear the thoughts of people who think Starmer is Blair 2.0, when a lot of the Starmer project's reactionary tendencies are an attempt to distance itself from the socially liberal aspects of Blairism
Starmer "led Labour to a thumping victory nobody thought possible" is one of those weird revisions of history, when 400+ seats was obviously in the realm of possibility from the moment the first post-minibudget polls dropped in September/October 2022
