Wes, this is your lawyer. I am advising you to keep posting this stuff.
BREAKING: Wes Streeting publishes his private WhatsApp messages with Peter Mandelson in apparent attempt to draw a line under their friendship. They reveal:

:: He feared being “toast at the next election” in his Ilford North seat, adding: “There isn’t a clear answer to the question: why Labour?”.

BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance

"People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense”

Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM!

It is darkly amusing, for all its seriousness, that this is maybe the one time Sarwar has been right about anything, and he's been shanked for it so hard that Labour are going to lose in Holyrood even more than they already were.
ANAS COULDN'T EVEN GET IAN MURRAY - THE MAN WHO WAS SACKED UNCEREMONIOUSLY IN THE MANDELSON RESHUFFLE - TO TAKE HIS SIDE?

And Alexander's predecessor:

This actually tracks with Scottish Labour's desire to run a presidential campaign. They're so focused on brand Sarwar, they've missed the wood from the trees and forgotten they're in operating within a parliamentary democracy where you do very much need support from your colleagues.
Absoutley remarkable move, betray the leader of your party, fail to notify your own key stakeholders to see what support you have for this.

Sorry, just to be clear, given Anas Sarwar is campaigning to be First Minister of Scotland: the position of Douglas Alexander, Ian Murray and all the other Starmer supporters is that it would be fine to have a Labour First Minister who actively thinks the Labour PM should resign. Cool!

Douglas Alexander is both a cabinet member and *co-chair of the Scottish Labour election campaign*.

How do you run a campaign when your leader and the co-chair of your campaign disagree on whether the Labour PM should resign? How is that sustainable?

I love living in non-independent Scotland, where a UK Labour spokesperson responds to a Scottish Labour leader's criticism with "nonsense. look at the great things we are doing in England"
February 9, 2026 at 3:10 PM
I am no longer shitposting when I say this, Sarwar might actually be in trouble here if he bungled this.
Where are all the messages of support from Sarwar's shadow cabinet? Did he plan this at all?

I do think that the Anas Sarwar press conference was just too nakedly cynical to be effective, frankly.

Mr Starmer, the Scottish people will respond to a show of strength if you remove Sarwar as leader.
NEW: No10 bat away Anas Sarwar’s calls for Starmer to go.

“Keir Starmer is one of only four Labour leaders ever to have won a general election.

“He has a clear five-year mandate from the British people to deliver change, and that is what he will do.”

If Anas Sarwar and the Scottish Labour party have an issue with being bound to a UK wide political union, I have a solution for them but I don't think they'll like it.

Exceptionally funny that this probably doesn't happen if Ian Murray is still in the cabinet as Secretary of State for Scotland.

quite funny that the entire Labour party has been spending months saying "let's wait for our Welsh and Scottish colleagues to be massacred before doing anything hasty" without really thinking through if anyone outside of England could hear them

No.10 advisors if you're listening you have the chance to do the funniest thing.
Some No.10 advisor is going to recommend supporting a Marra coup against Sarwar and they are absoutley right. That is the correct course of action to save Scottish Labour.

Excluding stuff that is largely ministerial driven (ERB and Great British Energy) Starmer has literally just nationalised some train companies and abolished hereditary peerages. Thats the only long-term positive structural things he's done. Thats the sum of 18 months work with a massive majority.
You know it's actually sort of impressive how Labour managed to waste all their post-election momentum on literally doing nothing whatsoever. It really is as comical as "they had no idea what they want to do with power, so they're doing basically nothing and advertising it even less"
