"Instead of choosing the executive by national plebescite, we'll choose it in the rational way: a random assortment of low-information voters in states that are relatively populous and politically closely divided."
I don't want the executive chosen by national plebescite, Elie. I've had about enough of populism and I'd think you would have too. You can fix the proportionality problem with a bigger House, but as a resident of Rhode Island, I will keep my 4 ECs, thank you :)

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

Shes not even a particularly good writer. She's ok - not an embarrassment - based on her writing. But now everyone has to pretend she's Gay Talese, so they can justify not kicking her to the curb. What's weird is that journos who *do* want to kick her to the curb are now in on the pretense
"She’s not trying to rebuild her reputation as a journalist—she’s building a different kind of brand entirely, one where being interesting matters more than being ethical, where attention is the only currency that still spends."

The best thing I have read about her. www.mediaite.com/opinion/the-...
The Olivia Nuzzi Comeback Is Everything Wrong With Modern Media
Olivia Nuzzi’s comeback isn’t a personal scandal story—it’s proof that today’s media rewards access, personality, and controversy more than ethics.

There is no greater clown on earth than a Republican elected official who claims to have scruples (aside, perhaps, from anyone who actually believes that claim)
RFK Jr had committed to Bill Cassidy, as a condition to win his vote, that he would keep website language.

Cassidy in February: “If confirmed… CDC will not remove statements on their website pointing out that vaccines do not cause autism.”

Note the language in second photo.

we are returning to the state in which the framers intended for the legislature, in which the lower chamber and the upper chamber absolutely despise one another
The House has voted unanimously to repeal the provisions in the shutdown package which allow GOP Senators to sue the federal government and get as much as $1 million in damages - because the feds looked at their phone records in the Jan. 6 investigation.

Joe Rogan and Theo Von slam DHS for using Von's image in a video promoting deportation:

"I was like, oh my God, what the fuck are they doing? That's not how you envision the government."

"They were making, like, deportation hype videos with trap beats and shit. What are we doing? It's idiocracy."

How do you dismiss an indictment which never occurred? Sounds like the legal version of a Zen koan
HUGE development IN hearing for Comey selective prosecution motion, It turns out that the grand jury NEVER saw the operative indictment. Whole separate basis for dismissal. Standby for more.

Few things bug me more than higher ed leaders saying that we lost our mission and lost the trust of the public, when we have actually been the target of a decades-long smear campaign by the right wing that worked. The moment we’re losing our mission is right now, in capitulation.

NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

For those who may not know, grand jury proceedings are intended to be secret, and it is very rare for them to be turned over to the defendant. The evidence of government misconduct must have been overwhelming to the reviewing magistrate.
BREAKING: Magistrate orders DOJ to turn over grand jury materials to Comey, finding real prospect that "government misconduct" may have tainted the case.

So, Halligan signed a declaration which appears to be false. If that's the case, she absolutely committed perjury.
November 17, 2025 at 8:09 PM
So, like, Halligan committed perjury, right? Obviously she's in trouble regarding her license to practice, but she also literally lied to the court. I don't do criminal law, but she had to have sworn to something at some point which she didn't do, right?
