"Collecting that experience" is an incredible euphemism for "Asking a guy about the fact that more than a dozen women accused him of sexual misconduct"
_He's_ gone through an experience?

"But they're like the people chained up in the cave, in the allegory of the people in the cave by the Greek guy..." is a lyric I just recognized for the first time in "No One Knows My Plan" by They Might Be Giants.

That's good lyricin'!

You KNOW this guy pulled a chair up in front of the class, turned it around, sat on it backwards, and asked the kids if they were interested in rapping about numbers.

the Harvard Crimson called Epstein a “child sex offender” while the Chronicle of Higher Ed called him a “disgraced financier” and that pretty much sums up where we are with higher ed journalism

You can't know something until you do. If you discover somebody is a monster, what you decide to do next is what matters. What you decided to do before you knew is immaterial. Don't confuse the former for the latter.
I want to lay down a few markers here for folks as the clock starts ticking down to the release of the Epstein Files.

1) You are going to learn about a lot more disgusting and sickening things people said, joked about and maybe even did. You will likely be disappointed in someone you had admired

So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

A guy makes ONE tiny mistake (has a years-long friendship with the world's worst sex trafficker; brags about sexually harassing colleagues; is racist; says women are stupid) and his whole LIFE is blown up (does slightly fewer speaking engagements; keeps teaching at #1 university)??!?!?!?!?!

Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

Counter-Counterpoint: Prometheus? Thanks but I'm more Conmetheus.
'Prometheus' my ass these guys aren't stealing fire from the gods they're stealing money from the people and setting fire to the planet. All for Bezos living out the 'Olympians punish him by chaining him to a rock and having an eagle eat his liver every day' phase of a titan's life tho.

Sidenote: this guy should still be considered a threat to reoffend.

If all the New York Times' defenders can explain this, great!

But they won't, because they can't, because they're ultimately in on it.

I mean if you're still reading The New York Times at this point you're reading the paper that quietly shielded the largest pedophile conspiracy of our time.
It's still hard for me to fathom that the New York Times *had* proof of Epstein's pedophile ring on their servers since 2016 and just chose not to do anything with it.

I've known for a while that the press was corrupt, but I didn't know to this extent.
