We are a few months out, at best, when it will come out that a mexican american citizen died in ICE/CBP while in detention and it will realistically not register as a news event for longer than a few days
4 U.S. citizen children, with their mother, held in a detention facility for 2 WEEKS. Denied access to lawyers and even communication with family.

Disappeared. Held Incommunicado. No charges have been filed.

Not just in politics it seems like the two dominant ideologies in the world today are "it would be a bad idea to eat the seed corn" and "it's tyrannical to suggest that not eating the seed corn is even a consideration"
Yep. It’s the supremacy of the quarterly report at work — also playing out with Dem email lists, where silly come-ons and desperate subject lines reign because consultants aim their work at quarterly fundraising totals over and above all else.
As recently as 2019 Boeing was worth twice as much as Airbus. What's easy to forget is these strategies are massively successful in shorter time frames, which makes them very hard to prevent or get in the way of even if the long-term implications are obvious.

The path is very clear: Republicans are creating a system to allow anybody—you, me, whoever—to have their citizenship revoked, sent to a prison camp in the Everglades, then exported to a labor camp in a third-world country. That entire pipeline could be in place in 24 hours.
Trump calls for deporting US citizens: "We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time ... many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too, if you want to know the truth. So maybe that'll be the next job."

I think that Cuomo (not a Jew) calling Brad Lander (a Jew) “anti-Semitic” because he is insufficiently pro-Israel pushes the dual loyalty trope and is far more anti-Semitic than anything Zohran has done

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was just arrested by Trump’s ICE agents because he asked to see a judicial warrant.

This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice. Release him now.
Here's a longer video of Brad Lander's detention just now inside 26 Federal Plaza as he tried to walk a man out of immigration court, by masked federal agents.

Here's another angle from Fox News reporter Bill Melugin of Sen. Alex Padilla getting roughed up by law enforcement after he tries to question Kristi Noem at her presser:

“I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary. Because the fact of the matter is, a half dozen... Hands off!”

Our secret-police immigration regime exists to maintain a vast servant class that lives in terror without rights. Unions threaten that.
ICE recently conducted a raid of farm workers, seemingly focused on pro-union worker leaders.

On Friday in New York the federal agents stopped a bus and, armed with a list, appeared to single out those who have been doing union organizing for years.

“They Actually Had a List”: ICE Arrests Workers Involved in Landmark Labor Rights Case
“We are concerned at the appearance of targeting publicly pro-union worker leaders,” said a UFW official about an ICE raid in New York.

Ted Kennedy fought for healthcare in the United States for decades. He will forever be remembered for dying in the middle of the Obamacare fight and losing Democrats their supermajority. Ginsberg’s record is Roberts being railroaded onto the maximalist Roe repeal; Biden’s record is Trump II.
Schakowsky has been a great local representative and had good politics, by all accounts. Admitting that aging - especially in your 80s - is real and bowing out gracefully to allow space for new blood would *add* to her record, not disrespect it.
Schakowsky's been stumbling through hearings for a while (Republicans had a field day with her weird riff about whether "manufacturing" was a gendered term) but now she has a young primary challenger, @katmabu.bsky.social
