I've given my new Senator a lot of shit on here. But I don't think anyone with power has laid out the stakes of what we're facing as clearly as she does right here.

And if she's saying this, it's because she feels she must.

It takes a (depraved) village
We're seeing a massive institutional deportation and state violence apparatus being built and it honestly feels like people dont grasp the sheer scale of it and what already is in place. For every horrific video of masked feds kidnapping people there are so many people pushing paper to help.
NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

“Footage, obtained by the outlet, captured the musician face-down in the mud, with her instrument about two feet to her left, struggling as what appears to be a federal agent straddled her backside. A police officer stood next to the pair.”
The Feds then jailed her across state lines. For music.

This remains the most important piece i’ve written about the goals and ideological principles of the second Trump administration www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Oh this is even worse than was shared this morning.

Shoving libraries under AI. Good work, folks shoving AI into libraries. Now they're just one in the same.

In an era we need to really be clear on the necessity and purpose of these democratic institutions, this is five hundred backward steps.

I’m not kidding when I say these weird ass costumes and antics are actually an extremely effective tactic from a media standpoint bc when enough people do them, the media can’t fully scrub them out

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Trump is attacking every source of university income (research grant cancellations, a proposed endowment tax, cutting Pell Grant eligibility and in the 'big beautiful bill' changing the student loan program). It's a declaration of fiscal war on universities with students as collateral damage.

Reminder: jury nullification won't be in your jury instructions and is not something you're allowed to talk about in court. If you bring up jury nullification during jury selection, you WILL be thrown off the jury.

Want to nullify? Just vote to acquit. That's all nullification is: a vote to acquit.
It’s a great time to talk to your family and friends about jury nullification 👍

My punk friends see it as a tool of oppression.

This is something I’m having to teach myself after grad school. Now that I’m reading more for fun, I don’t HAVE to finished everything I pick up! It’s so freeing even if it still feels like I’ll get in trouble at times 😂
If you’re 25 chapters into a book ‘hanging on until it gets better’ is some silly dork advice. Nah, my darling, it’s just not for you. Set it aside and read what you enjoy. Dragging yourself through a book you don’t vibe with is silliness. Time for reading isn’t always plentiful! Read what you love!
