glad you asked! California just passed a law (SB 720) that eliminates the need for facial recognition and would send the ticket to the owner of the vehicle, even if they aren't the one driving. under the old law, you could only receive a ticket if identified by an officer
I just posted about this a few minutes after raging against people blowing through red lights and walk signals every day. There are cameras on every stop light. Why aren’t cities sending tickets? That’s the only way people will stop for red lights.
