Inch for inch there is no more exciting box to unwrap on Christmas morning than a Tamiya. Almost weapons-grade graphic design, masterful. Who could resist?

I wonder why my nephew didn’t come to my funeral…

You know you’re in good hands when your tire shop has a podcast studio.

My tween son, unprompted: “I think maybe we shouldn’t have built a society that depends on us moving around in huge metal death machines.”

It’s going to be a long few decades.

It’s hard to have a technology obliterate the value and merit of all of your skills, hobbies and interests (not to mention doing so by pilfering the creative equity of your friends and idols) and not get a lil bit salty about the whole thing nah mean?

I was going to get on the Peloton but it’ll be so crowded today.

I’ve been informed the way I use Instagram is dead (has been dead). So looks like 2026 will bring my time on that platform to a close.

Feels weird to be leaving platforms I’ve been on for decades, but it is entirely possible to stay too long at the fair.

Decent post-flu-shot finds at my local CVS (which is usually garbage for hot wheels)

I’m old enough to remember when MTV played “Under the Bridge” by RHCP 5 times an hour. I must’ve seen that video 400 times, and I hate RHCP.

Still, RIP Yo! MTV Raps and 120 Minutes. Seminal programming for my musical tastes (despite not having cable growing up).
MTV is officially ending all of its music channels.

In honor of that, what's your favorite music video?

What was your greatest investment in 2025? Mine was buying #11 Red Sox jerseys at 75% off when Devers was traded.

I realized next year will bring me my first EREV: The Also TM-B! It's a series hybrid consisting of an electric drivetrain and a sweaty middle aged generator.

2026 is shaping up to be The Year of the EREV.

Also this panettone might be the best thing I ate all year.

I think this is good, like 90% correct (and some of where it is incorrect @hankgreen.bsky.social has no way of knowing).

What I also think is that it understands the social signaling value and cultural aspect of cars WAY more than the industry does…
