I don't recall seeing a "mainstream" publication display such relentless, overt dislike for, basically, anyone. (Not an invitation to suggest other examples; just an expression of how dramatic I find NYT's Mamdani-hatred.)

One of the great pleasures of cryptic crosswords is that sometimes a clue requires you to rethink your assumptions about how the clue works in order to solve it. A noun should be a verb; a city is a last name. Question your priors!

I don't think people realize how big a deal Interlochen is in the classical music world for kids. Premier place in the country to spend the summer if you are a band kid. For $25k Epstein was allowed to use it to recruit victims. This scandal touches so many parts of society.
