I’m reading a 2012 book about YCombinator and keep reading passages that are just a quilt of red flags.

Its so crazy that America is fighting a ground war with itself. Just full on troop movements happening between cities, reinforcements being shuffled around the midwest, all in an attempt to plunge a dagger into our own leg.
ICE totaled this car, abducted a woman, and then left it in the middle of Snelling Avenue, one of the busiest streets in the Twin Cities.

This isn’t law and order, this state sanctioned terrorism. It’s fucking disgusting.

If food is unaffordable, what does having twice as much of it available accomplish?
RFK Jr: "One of the things we're doing is Brooke Rollins is requiring that any facility, and store that accepts food stamps will have to double the amount of whole food that is now available to recipients. So that will change the marketplace around the country."

Martial law so they can cancel future elections.
The goal here is martial law. It’s martial law. Let’s be clear about that.

Looks like ICE is now cracking down on … Native Americans.

This letter was just posted by the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North/South Dakota:

“Our Nation is a sovereign government and our members are not immigrants. We are not subject to immigration enforcement on our own lands.”

For a literal decade the official CBP policy has been “don’t stand in front of or behind vehicles” because the decade before that their internally commissioned studies found that agents were putting themselves in front of vehicles so as to shoot the occupants
Because he put himself in front of the car to have an excuse to shoot!

I would really caution anyone against implying that paywalling this feature is a legitimate response to public outcry. The paywall is an endorsement, not a restriction. Musk is saying "this thing you're all talking about is valuable. Pay me for it." The actual material effect is just monetization.

What Jonathan Ross did last summer.

www.wired.com/story/ice-ag...
The case involved Ross punching out a man's window and tasing him while he attempted to drive away; the man shook him off his car, giving Ross injuries that required 33 stitches. The man called 911 to report that he'd been assaulted by ICE and was later convicted of assault on a federal officer.

Minneapolis and Portland are rightfully getting the lion's share of the spotlight, given the conduct of Trump's Goon Squad, but CBP/ICE's brand of fuckery continues on in other locations....
Immigration advocates reported multiple ICE arrests on Elm Street both Wednesday and Thursday.

Permission Granted

I've been talking a fair bit about editing my life lately. In fits and starts, I've been decluttering and downsizing. But in the process, a theme has emerged. If you read my chapter in The Power Within, you may have picked up on the fact that my mom was a bit of a packrat.…

I've been talking a fair bit about editing my life lately. In fits and starts, I've been decluttering and downsizing. But in the process, a theme has emerged. If you read my chapter in The Power Within, you may have picked up on the fact that my mom was a bit of a packrat. Although you wouldn't have to fill a half dozen huge dumpsters of stuff from my apartment, I did notice that I've developed a "save this for later" habit.

The whole lot of them spent Jan. 6th lying about what happened 5 years ago. Why should anyone expect them to start telling the truth on January 7th?

These fucking politicians need to STOP CONSTANTLY admonishing protestors to be "peaceful" while they are being brutalized regularly by the gatekeepers of the state. You should be up there telling ICE and Border Patrol to be fucking peaceful.

💯 this.

Pass the baton.
Share advice.
Offer material support.

Don't tell people how it is or how to feel or what they have to do if you don't live there.
AND LISTEN TO LOCAL AND ESTABLISHED ORGANIZERS.

Los Angeles is not Chicago. New York City is not Philadelphia. Local leaders who've been out there doing the work...will know best. Listen. to. them.

Stay frosty.
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

Great thread. I will add one thing: it’s very clear that when ICE is going into a new city, it’s not going into a city who hasn’t learned. Organizers are sharing. They start and people already have every license plate number they’ve used and are tracking their vehicles on day one.

We are where we are at this very moment because way too many people saw what the so-called real cops were doing and averted their eyes while muttering "you burned entire cities to the ground, so that means the cops can keep murdering with impunity."

(Entire cities were not burned to the ground.)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said.

That is called murder when they do that.

Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

A Black man named Keith Porter was shot and killed by an ICE officer on New Year’s Eve.

Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body.

This is not new but it is expanding.
Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular.

From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.

Anyway if you present as a white man, maybe practice a little patience at being in the minority ideologically and not making it about you. I know, it’s tough. But it’s what everyone else around you has had to do their whole lives.
