I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to talk to unhoused people. Interact with them like the community members that they are. Not everyone has the means to offer material support, but this is something everyone can do:

Having spent all day (almost exactly 12 hours, as of writing this) helping someone clear out their camp & store it in our backyard so it won't get stolen -again- for the 4th or 5th time, I'd like to take this opportunity to say FUCK RAPID RESPONSE

worth noting: usually 2 volunteers handing out meals on our distro route takes roughly 90 min (maybe 2 hrs if there are around 100 meals)
but when camps get swept, finding folks is far more time consuming
our route got swept recently
i was doing distro solo last night & it took me 3 goddamn hours
