Leonard Leo is a lawyer, but he's never argued a case in court. He's never held elected office.

But for years he rebuilt the American legal system, resulting in the Supreme Court's right-wing supermajority.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

I am thinking about being that person and reaching out to the owner. If a random dude out state hates me, so be it...

The numbers do speak for themselves. In fact, our neighbors know this because they feel it on the ground. They expect us to do more.

How about you stop telling us behind closed doors that we shouldn’t fund immigrant legal assistance, rental assistance, or support for our small businesses!
Big numbers. Big impact. The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to the effects of Operation Metro Surge. What can you do? Support businesses. Donate. Volunteer for a grocery run. As Assistant Chief Gaiters said today, we're Minneapolis Strong.

😂😂 NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I actually hate it and if it's in the state of MN it might be illegal...

Literally two of my favorite things🔥

Blasting the CO2 extinguisher is a job we fight over for our show 😄
There's still time! Be someone's Valentine and get them the flying stuff they love.

CAN WE NOT take them at their word until they've SHOWN they have left?? This is just HORRIBLE coming from the State DFL comms!

And we need an accounting of the REAL number of agents they are leaving in the state VS the number that was here prior to 2025 & this surge.

At this point I'm pretty sure the ICE motto is "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse"
February 13, 2026 at 7:59 PM
It's not a matter of them just leaving our state - they're building infrastructure to stay deeply embedded across the United States. That's what we need to stop!

We get asked all the time if our fire is "fake fire" or "cold fire" - one year our kids heard someone in the crowd suggest it was "CGI" 😐

The dumb burns more than the fire.

Stunt work is HARD. It can seriously maim/injure. Just because there's some choreography DOES NOT mean it isn't still a big fucking risk.

And, yes, I know jousters, knife throwers, a sword swallower, and I work with fire, so... yeah. Planning does not eliminate real risk.

And the one thing we all have to remember is that these false springs can actually increase risks from ice.

It spreads and thins out, and can be concealed beneath fresh snowfall.

Don't let the warm air make you lower your guard.

Our loons are now down in the Gulf of Mexico. Our lakes are frozen. This is the time of year that can be the hardest, but it is what makes spring that much sweeter.

I am glad our loon has become the symbol of resistance and community work in Minnesota.

But it will be a while before spring

The photo above was taken at Voyager 's National Park about a decade ago.

I grew up by a pond with a nesting loon population, and my evenings in the summer were spent sitting on the deck listening to the loons crying from the water and the barred owls calling from the trees.

Before all this *gestures* started, 3 of my favorite things about reading r/Minnesota were:
- First-timers asking for advice on surviving winter and getting flooded with help
- First-timers is talking about how much they loved snow!
- Visitors asking how they can see loons

So close! We need ICE Abolished. There is no reforming a paramilitary that is ALREADY breaking the law.
February 13, 2026 at 3:26 PM
There is no reason to believe that, with their attempt to establish permanent concentration camps across the United States, that they are going away easy.

So don't stop demanding that our leaders Abolish ICE. Make it mandatory for endorsement. Fucking keep the pressure on!

Minnesota and the ICE situation:

WHHYYY are so many people believing the folks who ALWAYS LIE just because they said the one thing that we want to hear?

ICE was all over our city yesterday - harder than before.

We NEED to know how many permanent ICE positions they've added in MN. 1/2
