a stat i always cite is the number of anti-trans articles in the press went from 60 in a year, to 7,500

Including disabled people in our utopian futures pushes back against a eugenicist ideal.
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

I’d be willing to rethink my stance on AI if it wasn’t actively killing our planet, leading to measurable cognitive decline and psychosis, being used to generate revenge porn, plagiarizing the work of millions of writers and artists, threatening to end thousands of jobs, and actually worked.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Pam Bondi needs to be impeached.

With the split in the House and Massie where he currently sits, it could pass the House, and trial in the Senate would be a necessary truth telling exercise.

It's cool that city and state officials are planning to keep flying the pride flag at Stonewall in defiance of fed orders; but it would've been cooler if they'd done so when the feds were just targeting trans flags.

just reset mine on here! I LOVE having the pronoun labeler, it's so useful to make sure I'm always referencing people respectfully and correctly. please please go do this!
The pronoun labeler, which was by far the most useful labeler on the site, was deleted by its creator. But thanks to @ripperoni.com there’s a new one available. I highly recommend it. It’s a great way to share your pronouns or see someone else’s pronouns at a glance.

you could simply leave the “Jewish” part out of this

it is a choice and it is a bad one and I would really, truly prefer that people ostensibly on my side of the political spectrum not make it
I have to say, I do not love this new trend of large liberal accounts with millions of followers identifying Jews.

While this absolutely sucks, we are going to see a lot more places implementing universal global age verification over this next year, because the number of states and countries legally requiring it has gotten to the point no one can keep up anymore.
