Washington State leaders need to intervene here.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

I have extensively researched and written about all the changes made to the type 15 shuttlepod interior and exterior on #StarTrekTNG (and #StarTrek DS9...) over the last 15+ years, so building this #StarTrek LEGO set is fun and weird at the same time... ;-)

I will say with love that it would be very wise for a whole lot of us to take a breath and think twice about playing Document Dump Deep Diver on social media.

There are folks who actually have experience parsing this stuff and doing Lib QAnon is not a good look.

The thesis of the book is that early COVID lockdowns weren't worth it and mid-COVID mitigation measures like masks, contact tracing and business closures don't work.

This is laughably false and the authors have endorsed the people now running Trump's HHS.

Reminder: it is not correct to refer to Conway as a "Never Trumper."

He was, in fact, a Trumper before he became a not-Trumper. He was literally a top pick to run Trump's DOJ in the first term. He was absolutely a Trumper.

This strikes me as just a way to let LLM in the door over at SFWA. You do not a survey to craft a no generative AI policy.
SFWA is doing a survey on LLM use in the industry. You don't need to be a member to submit. Writers/artists/humans need all the advocates we can get, and I hope we can encourage SFWA to take a strong stance. www.sfwa.org/sfwa-survey-...

I dunno who needs to hear this but using AI at your Early Concept phase, or for ideation, is literally the worst place to deploy it

It isn't creative, what it does is hand back tropes. That's what the model does: sift for likely responses to an input

It's like building your foundation out of memes

In IT, if you’re having a problem, a common way to solve it is by “talking to the duck.”

You explain the problem in detail to a rubber duck, and while explaining, you figure out what’s wrong.

The duck doesn’t say anything. It doesn’t have to.

You can figure things out without AI. Really. Try.
Now that aside, CAN you use a chatbot to knock you out of a creative rut?

Yes

But you're going to be handed the most generic fucking idea, and if you follow that line of thinking, you're going to stonewall yourself out of ever making anything remotely good

Ask literally anyone else, ANYONE. ELSE.

The instrument that one would use to measure this level of failure is called a Bariometer
Bari Weiss is innovating entire new dimensions of failure. She's failing in ways hitherto unconceived of. A pioneer of failology. A faileontologist. Whole career is a Fail Mary. She's beyond the fail. The Daily Fail. She's on the quest for the Holy Fail. Making tomato and Fail Salad.

I remember when I saw the first season of Andor, it quietly blew my mind that there is never, in the entire Narkina 5 arc, a “so what’re you in for” scene. Even to be jokingly dismissed a la Shawshank Redemption

It isn’t even interested in the question of “well what WOULD someone have to be guilty of to deserve to be there”. Almost certainly some of the prisoners on Narkina 5 are absolute monsters! The prisons still should not fucking exist!!
