I'll reserve further judgement.

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint - Medical Republic

Just finished King Sorrow by Joe Hill.

What a ride! I love the world building and the writing is cinematic. If you're a fan of urban fantasy at all that skews dark, this is absolutely a book you ought to read sooner rather than later. This is one I can see myself reading again when summer's gone.

Schumer (and other geriatrics like Angus King and Shaheen) sincerely believes that he can't stop Trump, so he thinks anyone who wants him to try to win a negotiation is mistaken. His belief is self-fulfilling!

At the same time, he's not willing to stand aside to let someone else take the lead.
Short version:

Trump: I'm dismantling the Constitution, building a paramilitary fascist army loyal only to me, blowing up the US economy for my billionaire cronies, and destroying the planet.

Schumer: Okay, but you have to extend subsidies for corporate health care

Trump: No

Schumer: Okay

Me: Yeah, that's the Baba Yaga O'Riley. It's gonna do that.

The next Bond film ought to just go full-on "Death of Superman".

Set it three years after Bond's death. Villainous fuckery abounds. And then, out of the shadows...

Four new Bonds. Pick one to continue the franchise with.

We need a weird, existentially-challenging Bond miniseries. Bond in the afterlife.

My latest at @comicsjournal.bsky.social: I talked to @oglaf.bsky.social! Not the character, but rather, the people who create it.

They don't do many interviews, so this was a real treat. They're funny people! Turns out they're not super private, just...really bad at PR?

Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...
