No. None of this is happening

What's happening is Unity's management (and maybe even dev team) have no understanding of casual games or why people play them, they're understood as just containers for ads

So they're doing that "well it's not good enough for thing We like, but good enough for them!"

So far Crisol is peak 2010s slow-burn, atmospheric narrative FPS. I can see why a lot of folks have been comparing it to Bioshock, but weirdly that makes me think more of other 2010s shooters that got compared to Bioshock, like Singularity or even Cryostasis? And I mean that as a *high* compliment
Really surprised I haven't seen more buzz about Crisol: Theater of Idols! Couple hours in and it's polished, mechanically neat and has a ton of style.

They keep changing tactics but keep kidnapping my neighbors. Every time they claim they’re drawing down things get a little worse.
ICE observers in Minnesota are skeptical about the White House's claims of a federal drawdown.

But they have noticed in recent weeks a shift from aggressive street sweeps in Minneapolis to instead target people in the suburbs or quietly waiting in unmarked vehicles of residential areas.
From chaos to radio silence: How ICE tactics changed in weeks leading to Homan announcement
In recent days, observers have noticed a shift in methods.

Watching a new Twin Peaks fan being born is like when the werewolf clan has someone savage but not quite kill the prospective member and then everyone has to just stand back and see if they survive the transition

If you haven't been watching the Olympics, this kid dresses like a vampire, wears a practice shirt that says "quad god" because he can do quadruple spins in the air, and the music he skates to has his own voice dubbed on top reading his angst poetry. He's wonderful, I'm really glad he's here.
Displaying Team USA Olympic figure skater Ilia Malnin on a CRT brings out a lot of the artist-intended details that get lost with pure pixels, this is why so many of us retain vintage hardware

So Unreal turns out to have a class of visual quirk I'd not run into yet: visual issues that only become apparent when trying to isolate screenshots from footage

I'd think I saw something, run slowmo or pause, nope looks fine,

(because that gives any temporal GFX processes time to stabilize)

So, Cristol

I know it's not super nonlinear, which is fine, but it kinda sounds Bioshock'y in being technically pretty linear but doesn't really feel that way?

If you put this scene in a historical Nazi video game you'd get called out at it being ahistorical and overly dramatic / it'd only fly in modern Wolfenstein
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
