Realized I was pushing myself in a direction that was hurting me and stopped. Took a break. Reevaluated what writing meant to me, what I wanted out of it, how I wanted to tell my stories. It has not been easy but I'm a much stronger writer now and I'm proud of myself for that.

Today in editing my own memoir makes me cry:
I know that hurts, but there is a little good news. So long as you’re alive, so long as you keep pushing through this, you haven’t failed. There will be times that you’ll feel as if you’ve given up already, there will be times that you feel hopeless, but as long as you’re alive, that won’t be true. Even when all you can do is roll out of bed and let the day carry you where it will, that’s a victory, because it gives you the opportunity to lick your wounds and fight another day.
