Middle school band concert supposed to be tonight at Roosevelt high school but switched to during the day at school because of ICE terrorizing our city. Kid’s band director closed the concert by having us all sing “we shall not be moved” in English and Spanish.

This. I am done returning to the status quo of what got us here. I want universal healthcare. I want a maximum wage tied to the minimum wage. I want omnipresent, cheap public transit and walkable neighborhoods. I want Supreme Court and police reform, and I want the rich to pay their fair share.
We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

Adding in a “oh, you know…”
Check in on your MN friends. Ask how they're doing. If they say:

"Pretty good, you?" They're probably ok.

"Just fine, howryou?" They're struggling, exhausted, hanging on but close to the edge.

"Oh, doin ok" Send help. The situation is desperate.

The City of Saint Paul is victorious in its equal protection case against the United States Department of Energy. The City argued that US DoE violated the 5th amendment by cancelling billions in grants to Democratic states.

Abolish ICE and get them out of my city
ICE rammed into a car at 34th and Park And then began to question the immigration status of U.S. Citizen Latino’s they crashed into.

They also deployed chemical irritants into the eyes of the press. Abolish ICE now.

This, for example, is a small thing Walz can do: declare a state of emergency so the cities can put in an eviction moratorium.
Evict ICE, not us.

Allowing our neighbors to be evicted because ICE has made it impossible for them to pay rent is unacceptable. Minneapolis needs an immediate eviction moratorium to keep people in their homes.

While he does national media interviews, the police that work for Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are aiding and giving safe harbor to the occupiers. His words are meaningless unless he reigns in his own subordinates and shows he has the power over the department HE is responsible for.
Mayor Frey: In the immediacy following the shooting, you heard people from the Trump administration saying that the victim was a domestic terrorist. Watch the video. The ICE agent was not run over as Trump stated. You had a person that was definitively trying to leave the scene.

This should not be a difficult concept.

I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building.

Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained.

The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

Amy Klobuchar was on MSNOW yesterday with Jen Psaki saying “I have advocated for 🧊 reform,” refusing to say 🧊 should get out of Minnesota, and that there should be “discussion” and “reform” wrt the budget, so, yeah, call her office every damn day.
Next federal budget deadline is 1/31; budget’s being debated right now.

ESPECIALLY Angie Craig & Amy Klobuchar need calls on this. Daily.

If you haven’t, now’s a good time to put your rep and senators’ office numbers in your contacts. DC and local. Find those here: www.congress.gov/members/find...

Cool cool cool more threats from federal agents/fascist thugs in my city
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand
