Cost of Operation Midway Blitz: $59M and counting
A Tribune review of court filings, databases and other public records detailing the scope of the incursion and typical costs shows how much the federal government has spent since September.

Grok is now also editing clear pornographic content onto uploaded images of people who are very likely underaged. This is absolutely beyond fucked up.

The thing is, I don’t think Donald Trump understands this.

I don’t think Exxon and Halliburton convinced him to do this. I think he convinced himself. (And of course plenty of anti-Maduro constituencies played their part).
if you're looking for an "it's about the oil" conspiracy theory but have realized that our oil companies don't actually want the Venezuelan oil, may I recommend
sorta thought the whole point of pressuring Venezuela and Nigeria is that doing so elevates oil prices a bit but not enough to get the Permian going, thus making Russia and KSA happy.

sorta thought Bessent of all people understood that

Republicans' rejection of accountability to international law was a warning sign of the party's wholesale rejection of the rule of law here, too — so after all this, any restoration of constitutional governance will have to make Republicans accountable to both.

No path to recovery avails itself without our first recognizing reality: we do not, at the moment, have constitutional governance. We instead have an anti-constitutional insurgency seated in the White House, and a high court twisting the law beyond recognition to justify Trump’s depredations.
“Once he was elected, [Trump’s] post-Jan. 6 experience inspired his administration’s goals and methods. He and his aides concluded that intimidation and lawlessness could yield victories even in … illegal circumstances. … In Mr. Trump’s second term, he has governed as if Jan. 6 never ended.”

Yup.
