Woman with legal status taken from her family home in St Paul by ICE, flown to Texas, held for two weeks before being ordered released by a judge. She lost her job. She's afraid to go outside because agents keep coming to her home.

After ICE release St. Paul woman, she says agents keep returning to her home
Thi Dua Vang legally came to the U.S. two years ago. So when ICE showed up, she thought it must have been a mistake.

So they can manipulate their own videos perhaps? Harder to do with videos taken by observers that are given to the press before the feds see them

WASHINGTON (AP) - Homeland Security Secretary Noem says every DHS officer deployed to Minneapolis is now being issued a body-worn camera.

ICYMI: The US is currently holding three times as many people in immigrant detention as were detained in the Nazi concentration camp system in spring 1939 — six years into the Third Reich, and just before the start of World War II.

This feels validating for the somewhat hyperbolic gripe I’ve been saying to everyone, that I feel it’s either above freezing or below 10 degrees every day. I’m not that far off! That one day we were a degree off of normal, I went ice skating
January either ran hot or cold in the Twin Cities. If you can believe it, there were three (!) days in the 40s in the first half of the month!

It was so cold the last two weeks that the monthly temperature ended up below average.

And it was either WAY above or WAY below average too. Bizarre.

This week, my illegally detained neighbor -- an asylum seeker with a wife and two children -- will have a hearing that gives him a chance to get home to his family and get his asylum case back on track. But he will need to pay a $6000 bond.

"Rehmet believed the core message of his campaign—working-class solidarity—could be the glue in a winning coalition of unions, progressives, blue-collar voters, and disaffected Republicans. Early analysis indicates just how much that was true."

Taylor Rehmet’s victory over Leigh Wambsganss in a state Senate special election was low turnout, but the numbers send a message.

I think if regular folks are donating hundreds of dollars to mutual aid in the span of a few weeks, then landlords could maybe have a heart and not evict vulnerable families in this time of extraordinary crisis

Many thanks to @danilawaart.bsky.social for allowing me to recreate this beautiful work as crop art.

USA Hockey just banned trans people from my league (among others). Making a unilateral move instead of letting each league decide is awful. I’m sad for us

ilhan omar said last night it’s about retribution and intimidating us into submission, not about immigration. she talked about citizens hiding because what’s happening in the streets here is like the countries they fled

and her family hid, then fled. but where can you go from the US now?

Soooo what I’m seeing regarding that first round playoff matchup is the Wild is really good at coming back from a deficit to force OT, and the Stars are really good at giving up multi-goal leads…😬

In Mpls, 3 conventions to elect delegates to: city (school board), state (constitutional offices, legislature, Congress), county (attorney, commissioners, sheriff)
I’m backing:
- Senate: Peggy over Angie
- CD 5: Ilhan over LaTonya
- Hennepin: Frazier (Atty), Greene & Fernando (contested commish) 1/
Any unofficial recommendations you have on who we should try to caucus/support for Tuesday?

How are people approaching Friday with the recent MIRAC statement? I don’t feel like I’m well-versed enough in all the different orgs involved in this cause to know what decision to make, I’m wary of infighting. Feel free to DM with thoughts too

The Munsell soil color book is essentially pages of paint swatches, and yes I have had some interpretive arguments about soil texture
Omg they need to meet soil scientists.

Or truly any group of scientists with the same specialties.

So much of it is "art" and nuance, not hard, incontrovertible fact.

I mean, apparently an astronomer on here has blocked a pile of geologists today for disagreeing about sand.

Whether or not the teammates share her anti-trans views, I have seen so many of them go out of their way to uplift her, either through online gestures like this or on official team media holding up signs for her and stuff. I cannot get behind whatever dynamic is going on here
