Meteorologist in the Twin Cities. AMS CBM #983

This will be weather, dog, sports, music, and husband content mostly.
The same people griping about my snow forecast being off by 20 miles are believing clickbait forecasts of a snowstorm in 10 days.

Y’all, pump the freakin brakes.

Hard cut off on the slushy snow in the Twin Cities. There are some slippery stretches (blue lines, second pic) in the far south metro.
November 18, 2025 at 1:48 PM
Slight changes to the forecast:
- nudged things north slightly
- best chance of slush/slippery roads is in the south metro
- downtowns could see a slushy dusting

Overall, don’t drive like a jackwagon if you see snow in the morning, and you’ll be golden.

Me, convincing people that Björk is showing up during the Super Bowl halftime show…

Men on social media: Say less. Nothing even.

You wouldn’t know we’re waking up to slushy snow in the Twin Cities Tuesday morning looking at the stock weather app… #CrapApps

Y’all, I’m blowing minds in the studio tonight, telling people that parents can legally get their kids served alcohol at a bar in Wisconsin.

No age minimum.

Rain changing to snow Monday night into Tuesday morning!

This is mainly a southern Minnesota thing, but some slush could stick in the south Twin Cities metro.

Here’s my forecast tonight. I’ll post an update tomorrow.

I flamed someone in the newsroom pretty hard for this snack combo.

But…am I right? Does this actually look appealing to y’all?
November 16, 2025 at 11:02 PM
Oh, so now Vikings fans get to watch Cousins potentially lead the Falcons to victory.

At least Darnold threw a pick.

An underthrow? Touche.

I beg the Fox NFL folks: Please let a broadcaster rip through highlights at half. I’ve seen sports reporters in small markets do it better.

At the gym, and a lovely woman asks for a pic because her daughter doesn’t believe someone on TV would go to the Y.

Once again y’all: We are typical community members, just like anyone else.

I await my fine

That high of 61° today was just after midnight. Most of Saturday was in the low to mid 50s.

We lose the wind Sunday, keep all the sun, and stay in the mid 40s. Not a bad mid-November afternoon in Minnesota.

BACK OFF CRAIG FINN, THIS ONE IS MINE
“Burrito supremo at El Zocalo in Lino” would make a catchy song title
November 16, 2025 at 3:01 AM
Aww crap, I forgot to wear my horns down socks tonight.
November 16, 2025 at 12:51 AM
I’m still recovering from this literal foot long burrito I had last night. Produced my first food coma in years.

Burrito supremo at El Zocalo in Lino, if you’re curious.

This is fantastic analysis and context on the spectacular northern lights display earlier this week.
This is wild! Here is a mosaic image combining satellite passes from NOAA 21, Suomi NPP, and NOAA 20 showing the auroral oval very extended during the geomagnetic storm earlier this week. I have annotated where the typical auroral oval rests over the north geomagnetic pole.

Waiting for the numbers to be QCed, but the Twin Cities has at least tied the record high of 71° today.

It’s possible we snuck to 72° between hours.
November 14, 2025 at 9:20 PM
Just after noon on November 14, and it’s 64° in the Twin Cities.

Go do things outside.

Haven’t listened to this album in ages, and I still remember it word for word. One banger after another.

Fun fact: This album and Kid A were released the same day. I purchased both of them on the same day many months after that.
November 14, 2025 at 5:33 PM
I survived, don’t worry.
November 13, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Ho hum, more northern lights tonight.
