This is what people obsess over when we’re on track to turn Earth into the next Venus by 2030, does polling or the fucking NY Times even report on that any more as much as demonizing trans people, can’t find their story on this? www.politico.eu/article/glob...
Per YouGov this week:

🟥44% think transphobia is a "major problem" among Republicans
🟦34% think "transgender ideology" is a "major problem" among Democrats

Americans list transphobia second among "major problems" for Republicans, behind "hostility towards immigrants" (47%)

To anyone who think S Korea’s ex president got off easy with a 5 year prison sentence, he’s got 8 more trials and sentences to go… And just imagine what the US would be like if someone else had at the bare minimum gone to jail for 5 years for an insurrectionist coup attempt?
Court has sentenced Yoon to five years in prison for obstruction of justice and other charges. Remember this is the first of eight cases related to his 12.3 martial law bid in 2024.

S Korean judge explaining why he sentenced the maniacal ex-President Yoon Suk Yeol, who tried to Jan 6th the country, to jail….. 👀
Judge said sentencing was influenced by Yoon consistently making excuses to justify his crimes and his failure to reflect on his wrongdoing.

So much bullshit flooding the zone that the news the world is now inevitably going to blow past 1.5C temperature rise (and already has once) is barely noticed or being acted upon. If anything the US has put all its chips in on making it worse.
Incredible unforced error to commit your empire to two different snowbound theaters of counterinsurgency in what will probably end up being one of the last years with a winter.

Hey congressman numbnuts have you ever tried to scan a Pokémon QR code? Now imagine doing it while masked Gestapo with a tactical plate carrier and an AR15 smashes in your windshield and drags you out of your car you regular Einstein
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

We have a few weeks left to convince our US Senate representatives to shut down the govt over ICE, the one thing they can do. Every measure must be taken to stop this insanity. thehill.com/homenews/sen...
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

Its so crazy that America is fighting a ground war with itself. Just full on troop movements happening between cities, reinforcements being shuffled around the midwest, all in an attempt to plunge a dagger into our own leg.
ICE totaled this car, abducted a woman, and then left it in the middle of Snelling Avenue, one of the busiest streets in the Twin Cities.

This isn’t law and order, this state sanctioned terrorism. It’s fucking disgusting.

TTRPG books are, to me at least, just beautifully mutated avant-garde genre fiction.
January 11, 2026 at 11:24 PM
Yeah, just to pick an example of something far more mainstream & recent, the worldbuilding docs made for the Avatar movies essentially read like TTRPG literature.
Well said, Aaron.

I'd even say it goes beyond just the literary establishment, the mere mention of TTPRG source books to many has them looking at you like "Okay, Nerd"

However, today's crop of writers love worldbuilding and lore.

And guess where we all got that from? Our love for TTRPGs.
Pondsmith’s writing work in the cyberpunk genre deserves far more credit and analysis now. But ironically, as sci-fi novelists were then disrespected by the serious literary establishment in the 1980s, I believe TTRPG sourcebooks were wrongly regarded as an even lesser literary genre.
