pretty interesting development in South Korea: the ruling Democratic Party is trying to stop the conservative mayor of Seoul of building a high rise commercial complex nearby the Jongmyo Shrine in central Seoul, citing it may threaten Jongmyo's UNESCO designation www.koreaherald.com/article/1061...

Making a deal with Republicans they promise to honor later on in exchange for nothing has got to be one of the least historically informed decisions made in American political history. It’s like pouring Leopard’s favorite marinade all over your naked body and curling up in Leopard’s food bowl.

What’s the victory going to be here? The prez & speaker both precisely said in 4K they’re gonna kill ACA now you have zero leverage. Your leadership gave up the one chance you had to back the people on not just this but ICE raids, dissolution of the Constitution, & targeting of political opponents.
That December vote is a huge moment we can turn into a victory. People are watching. Good bill, we win; they cheat, they will lose. If we fight united.

If Avatar is a 1970s van with Roger Dean style airbrush sci-fi art on its side playing prog rock like Yes or Styx, then Predator: Badlands is a 1970s van with Richard Corben style airbrush sci-fi art blasting War Pigs by Black Sabbath

A really cathartic thing in this moment of incandescent rage is Predator: Badlands. Fuckin’ rips. Under 2 hours, monster is hot and emo, Elle Fanning incredible in the murderer’s row of Weyland Yutani synthetics, has perfect sense of humor and pace for its barbarian tone. Knows how to be a movie.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

I have to hand it to Democrats. I'm one of the feds working and not getting paid and they manage to make reopening the government feel worse than the alternative.
Like, why did I miss 2.5 paychecks to end up right back where we were before the shutdown started?

Not a political consultant but I’m not sure “standing up to trump doesn’t work” is the best midterm message, even if if accurately represents senate dems position. Not much point in putting you in power then bsky.app/profile/atru...

A huge problem in American politics is believing we can just post or donate to Gofundme and PACs to solve our problems. Imagine if that’s what the Civil Rights movement did. I’ve protested outside Schumer’s Brooklyn home many times & don’t think it did anything and that’s why we need to primary him.

Sweet lobbying deals, fundraising, insider stock tips, and setting up elections so your voters barely have any choices
What is the point of a political party that will not fight for the people?

No other political party on Earth takes voters for granted as much as US Demorats
Much like 2024, Democrats seem to think there’s a binary choice in the 2026 election between voting for Republicans (evil) and voting for Democrats (feckless).
They rarely acknowledge the third option which inevitably harms them the most: staying home.

How you gonna keep fighting when you always let them win fuckface
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis
For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare
We will keep fighting
