she/they. Minneapolis. Water nerd 💧
Probably yapping about hockey
Someone pressed her in a neighborhood meeting once, not even that intensely, and she immediately panicked when she realized that saying a lot of words that meant nothing wasn’t working. She’s going to have a rough time

Everything I learn about the suburbs south of Dallas is against my will

I’m in a weird place of liking it but agreeing with every single criticism from people who didn’t like it. But I saw it in theaters so maybe the fun of that worked in its favor

The one person in the group originally from Minnesota didn’t know the timeline so I feel okay about it. At least I knew the song generally!

I learned the year at trivia because there was a question about the song with the year attached and I was like “surely it’s not the Edmund Fitzgerald, the song and sinking have gotta be from the early 1900s” and because I said that we got it wrong - but nobody argued otherwise

Yeah I want to be charitable to newcomers taking their shot but it’s hard. I’m also thinking about the long game if you want a big ideological shift. NYC is a different place entirely but had been going for conservatives; Zohran built up to this with 5 years of running/serving in office

Also misrepresents the situation in acting like “the left” forced everyone else to get in line behind Fateh. Each candidate said they wanted to win and they chose of their own free will how to ally themselves. No one was forced

I don’t know that Kaohly Her would’ve won (especially with such a short campaign) if she weren’t an elected official. I don’t think it should be necessary, but maybe it helps to already be an elected official to be a top contender?

I’m thinking about how Fateh is the one who already had years of recognition from other elected positions. Many people learned who Jazz and DeWayne are for the first time in context of the election. Hodges and Frey were on city council before becoming mayor

In my book, you already won with the laser loon cards

Hoping for laser duck in the style of laser loon

Truly the best duo of team names anywhere, and their kits are always fantastic too

Women’s Elite Rugby gets an honorable mention, several true gems but several meh

Definitely need something pithier for cheers (they can’t force you to not say “ducks” or “birds” out loud) but this feels emotionally in line with a loon for that part of the continent so I’m all for it

They did them so dirty with the logo
November 6, 2025 at 6:40 PM
I agree that Mamdani and Lander did it well and that’s because they had a direct and focused message and played so Mamdani would win. I don’t think I’m outright against RCV but it makes voter outreach complicated and I see the hardships in trying to develop a winning strategy

Yeah I know plenty of ordinary people who only know about Frey’s new events and downtown-related things but nothing else. I also saw racist misinformation and stereotyping about Fateh which I haven’t seen many folks mentioning - white people here are still racist and xenophobic!

If rules are changed so people aren’t sitting there for a full day bogged down in procedure and endless stalling, I would feel more favorable towards them. It seems like procedure has been weaponized by the conservatives the past couple cycles, which shouldn’t be how these things go

I’ve heard this argument a lot and I understand it from the monetary influence side, but even as a fairly involved person the caucus and convention process seems very burdensome. I see both sides but I still don’t think convention is accessible to most regular people

I see merit in the coalescing strategy but Fateh was a top 2 candidate…it didn’t matter who Fateh-1 voters ranked later. The issue was Fateh not being ranked by moderates and Frey getting enough 2nd ranks. Those voters may have ranked Frey first without Davis and Jazz, but maybe not.
