not every insurance company works this way. in an average year I don't ever put anything toward my (very small) deductible because my insurance covers my meds and appointments and tests with just a copay.

but some people can't get ANY help AT ALL until they've spent $5-10k out of pocket.

btw for those who don't know why Americans with chronic illness got like 75% more stressed on Jan 1st, it is not just because all the insurance rates blew up.

On 1/1, deductibles reset. which means you have to spend some amount of money (up to $10k sometimes) before your insurance COVERS ANYTHING

"We stand with Denmark, we stand with Greenland, our closest partnership is with the United States, and we'll work with everybody to make sure we move forward together"

PSA: twitter, X, is doing new terms of service that basically make it so that any comtent you share on there including DMs and photos is theirs and they can use it for "any purpose" including commercial use.

So, if you have a page you’ve left up and don’t want them there’s time to act 1/

"News with a bit more humanity" fails to even mention human rights or the misery being created by a fascist state that plans to kidnap a million people a year—only the worries of employers.

It even mentions deregulation that makes conditions and pay worse for whatever farm workers remain.

Told y’all about colonialism/imperialism and y’all called me a race-baiting grifter. Now what?
If you read the National Security Strategy, it’s basically colonialism in print. But I talk too much about race, misogyny and class so y’all also called me a racist 😒🤨🤷🏾‍♀️

Full on lunacy on display by the Government. Peter Thiel, Palantir's owner, is a techno-fascist. We should be disengaging from US Big Tech not subjugating UK sovereignty to US corporate interests.
Yet another huge contract, awarded without any competitive bidding process, to Wes Streeting's favourite NHS supplier, the Hard Right US surveillance tech specialists Palantir, for military decision making capability.
Palantir lands biggest ever UK defense deal
The £240 million contract with the Ministry of Defence has renewed a debate about Britain’s dependence on American technology.

First CES panel. Intuit CMO Thomas Ranese is proud of his company's integration with OpenAI, which involves giving AI read/write access to tax data. Since prompt injection attacks are unavoidable, I asked him who will be liable when customer data is exposed: Intuit, OpenAI, etc?

He had no idea.

But supposedly EU can't do anything, because it can't endanger US support to Ukraine.

it would be cool if Canada would also end allyship with US fascism

but it's part of it
New — I wrote about how corporate media is immediately siding with power in the wake of Trump attacking Venezuela and capturing Maduro, and how journalists need to treat the administration as a hostile entity that’s openly lying to them.
Call Trump's power grab in Venezuela what it is
Corporate media must recognize they're being openly lied to—and report accordingly.
