Film worker.

If you are in southern California, I'll PA your film. DM for resume and contact info.

This account mostly posts transit info about the Los Angeles area, and also very dumb jokes.

Got added to a starter pack so my follower count jumped

Hello! The starter pack was about cargo bikes! I have a cargo bike!

When not making bad jokes on the Internet, I post about bike lanes & transit in LA, and about transit in the US generally

Also movies but those are long posts and I'm lazy
Another piece of evidence for "neither Trump individually, nor the federal government at large, have the popularity to ignore the courts"
In ICE masking news: The federal government has sued California to prevent enforcement of the state's "No Secret Police Act," which bans federal law and immigration enforcement officials from wearing masks on duty in most circumstances.

Trump administration sues California over law banning masked federal agents
The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit over California’s new laws banning federal agents from wearing masks and requiring them to have identification while conducting operations in the state.

Me, doing a Gary Oldman Dracula: "I have crossed oceans of time to be with you."

My wife: "Husband, you were on the 91 freeway for maybe an hour"

Me: "OCEANS OF TIME, WIFE"

One of the things which can make certain mysteries and political/legal thrillers interesting is that their genre's definition of "dumb" is just "less smart than the investigator"
Think about the movies you like, they almost certainly hinge on a dumb guy who thinks he’s smart

looks like they're not just forming words

seems like those words have definitions, and they're at risk of unionizing and forming sentences with imbued meaning

Need a tiny car? Get a bmw isetta. You can fit all your groceries in it! Or a passenger, perhaps, instead! You will certainly not regret getting a bmw isetta.

Tired? Need an afternoon pick-me-up? Have a second cup of coffee at 4pm. Easy! Simple! Portable in a mug. Make sure it's a big mug! You will certainly not regret having a second cup of coffee at 4pm.
coffee at 2pm won't affect your sleep adversely if you are pure of heart and spirit

A film series that switches to George Lazenby for one movie, switches BACK to Sean Connery for one movie before landing on Roger Moore is now worried about the character dying.

Film universes are a blight, film canons are a curse, continuity is its harbinger, and we are all poorer for its presence
My last word on the matter

I think you're about to see some US House representatives, state senators, and attorneys general get some *really* good social media management all of a sudden for absolutely no particular reason but definitely before the 2026 filing deadline
I think they get it through and I think some of them start to regret that very quickly

the anger from the last cave is stronger and has a much smaller set of targets now

Called my senators

Sen. Padilla's office is closed, so I sent a message via the text form on his website.

Sen. Schiff's voicemail inbox is, predictably, full, so he also gets an email. The voicemail has never not been full. Hugely disappointing to never be able to contact him when it counts. Ever.

Jafar Panahi was sentenced to six years in prison and banned by the Iranian government from filmmaking for 20 years.

While under house arrest during his appeal, he made THIS IS NOT A FILM (2011) with Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, who'd later be arrested as well.
What is the best movie not from this year that you’ve seen this year? Bonus points if you say why

Once again for the "they'll just ignore the courts" crowd:

the White House really does want to ignore the court (see Vance's statements)

but the DOJ lawyers in the room, and the defendants (e.g. the USDA) absolutely do not want their lives immediately ruined by contempt charges
BREAKING: The USDA tells states funds will be made available later today to pay November SNAP benefits in full.

Senate Democrats, promptly after finding a spine and winning an election: "my back is straight and I hate the view from here, better get back to grovelling and playing the loser"
Lmao they're caving and gonna fuck up all the good work being done. Mike Johnson this morning said that Congress is here to do the Executive bidding! What more do they have to say for you to finally realize Congress is done. There's no Federal Government. It's Trump and nothing else.

the cool thing about true wave elections is that every now and then you see results like this where you’re like “damn I didn’t even know we could do that”
Democrats have flipped 2 seats in the Mississippi senate, and in so doing they've broken the GOP's supermajority in the chamber.
