I do feel sorry for the kids. They’ll seemingly never know amazing things.
When dialup internet went mainstream, it was amazing. When we got broadband, it was amazing. When we got to take that mobile with 3G, it was amazing. MP3 players? Amazing! GPS? Amazing!
Now it’s just AI and enshitification.

This is the key thing about nice small towns: it’s not the density, it’s the compactness
Increasingly convinced that we need to be doing more policy design not around density but around _compactness_ — land uses clustered together in a contiguous way. Which in turn makes it structurally possible to get between more places without a car

I think a current problem with custom feeds is they only have one cursor. To do this structurally I think custom feeds need to have two cursors for extending the shown content in both timeline directions
