Hakeem Jeffries, with his David Cassidy eyes, is simply unsuited for his position. Bring back Jo-Anne Fabrics. He’d be so comfortable and confident amongst the colorful ribbon and soft yarn. He’s not meant for DC. He’s gentle, and lethargic and risk averse. He’d be everyone’s favorite shift leader.
Who said he was old? He’s simply ill suited for a job which requires him to be a decisive leader, a beacon for the future, an exciting and inspiring figurehead or even simply not visibly anhedonic and lethargic, particularly as the face of the party. He’s not old, he just sucks real hard at his job

This is a pretty wild exchange and it's worth pointing out how plainly corrupt a lot of the dealings between this administration and middle eastern dictatorships are, and their impact on national security.

A disconcerting number of high status people upended their worldviews because other people did not affirm that status in the way they thought appropriate.
And social media accelerated this because for high status people it is often the experience of people telling you that you are wrong.

Yeah my job is pretty cool. My uniform is a tactical vest that’s two sizes too small and a gaiter I bought in a gas station. They send me to sneak into schools to kidnap little kids because people got mad about having to press 1 for English. The president had to warn everyone to stop spitting on me.

NEW: Unbelievable. A seemingly endless line of tanks & other military vehicles arrive in DC ahead of next week's parade.

They departed Texas 5 days ago.

What a colossal waste of time, money & military resources. All for a President who has shown zero respect for service personnel.

the thing thing about the admonition to “not take the bait” is that while it makes sense in the context of an election — where you are trying to communicate a narrow set of ideas broadly — it does not make sense in the context of “how do we make this president as unpopular as possible”

A truly depressing account of the enormous time, effort, & resources that go into building *anything* in blue cities.

Can not be exaggerated how much this phenomenon is crippling blue politics in the US.

How many meetings does it take in Philadelphia to build 57 affordable homes? A lot.
The Philadelphia Housing Authority and developer Pennrose have been trying to get project approval since 2019. The cost has risen, and federal funding could be at risk.

What a statement from 84-year-old Dem Rep. Jim Clyburn:

“Nancy left her seat. Steny left his seat. I left my seat. What the hell I’m supposed to do now?” Clyburn said when asked whether the party needed to think of bringing in younger members. “What do you want—me to give up my life?”

There's some remarkable "I'm not mad" vocal work being done here, but I think it's high time Secretary Hegseth sits in front of Congress and explains why he has one really long sideburn and one normal-sized one. America demands answers.
As former Trump Pentagon senior officials describe “total chaos” on his watch, Hegseth hilariously blames the media (again)
