What follows is the funniest use of the slo-mo alternate angle tech I've seen them use during these Olympics of one of the crew members falling

Elites think they’re immune to bad information environments and that makes them even more susceptible, it’s the Bill Ackman problem. I also suspect that it’s the reason you see elites capitulating to Trump while opinion shifts rapidly.

Also just darkly funny that Meta thought people would be less concerned about secret surveillance glasses during a time of political unrest. How's that been working out

Meta should be destroyed and the earth should be salted where it once grew.
this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

A very nasty bit of slight-of-hand is that they now completely ignore the actual question of "security" or "enforcement" and have adopted fully the Trump/Vance grievances about TPS and asylum. The narrative isn't about the border anymore or "legality", it's about undesirable racial populations.
really interesting to me how many professional political commentators have basically retconned the draconian immigration enforcement policies of Obama and Biden out of existence and have completely swallowed the right wing narrative of immigration enforcement
Not going to read them all because jesus fucking christ but this is nasty work from Friedersdorf

Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!

The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.
This draft guidance reproduces Cass insisting that clinicians must be involved in decisions about *social transition* which actually should be none of their damn business

They take the line that this "non-directive" intervention should force things to be "keeping options open and flexible"...

just think: if more people understood the economics of supply and demand, we could charge appropriate parking rates on the peninsula *and* increase support for building more housing!
Just a note on the lede of this story. Gabrielle can't find parking because it's priced too low, so people are incentivized to use it, which means they are, which means no spot for Gabby.

“There’s limited street parking, and the [waterfront area] development was permitted by the city to not provide enough parking for the number of restaurants”

It’s really too bad that street parking is the only option in downtown Halifax and not a single parkade or lot exists - oh wait!

holy crap Hendsbee (!!) from the top rope
Hendsbee said he said to the provincial MLAs: “stay out of our bus lanes and bike lanes please” and that he asked them for cameras.

He said the bus lanes should be transit and emergency vehicles only. He doesn’t support HOV.

After "this out of touch liberal multiculturalism will fail" didn't pan out - BB's show set ratings records and is the most talked-about part of the super bowl - they are desperately pivoting to a blatant lie that "it was successful because it wasn't political"
Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance had already become a media event.

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.
