Skinner is looking good tonight. But I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

So far this Oilers game has been a total snooze fest, and the UCP’s education funding propaganda (sorry, “commercials”) during every break aren’t helping with the entertainment value.

I’d like to toot my own horn here, as well as that of my friends, by acknowledging that this month marks the 20th anniversary of the Oilogosphere. For those who don’t know, that’s the name given to the group of Edmonton Oilers bloggers who appeared after the 2005 NHL lockout. 🧵/1

Grateful I remembered to cancel my Sportsnet+ subscription today and renew it at the lower annual rate before the price increases tomorrow.

Are you sure you’re listening? 🤨

Danielle Smith’s waste-of-taxpayer-money “Alberta Next” panels turned rowdy in Edmonton.

It’s clear they’re not interested in hearing from Albertans. The UCP just wants to continue to push their costly, destabilizing ideas on Alberta.

I encourage all Alberta chuds to defy this bear lockdown. They should express their civil liberties while walking around eating a sandwich.
New conspiracy just dropped on Meta.

Danielle Smith is traveling back from Mexico today, but you won't ever see the receipts. ❌

She and the UCP scrapped the rule that required her to show Albertans the bill.

What happened to the Danielle Smith who wanted government transparency?

People suck.

Most of them are good. But enough of them are awful that it makes it so much harder for the rest of us.

Be better.

On my third viewing, I can now finally admit that K-Pop Demon Hunters is pretty cool.

Golden is a banger.

I love Zoe.

Stan Bowman shopped the world for you this summer. Here's a look at the European procurement.

And even if they are bad people they still have a right to representation.

But many are not as bad as the government says
If you ever find yourself drifting towards the idea that public defenders, legal aid lawyers, and pro bono/sliding scale/movement lawyers are bad people for representing rapists or murderers or con artists or whatever, just keep in mind that is true only if you conclude the government never lies.

Shawshank (obs), True Romance, Hudsucker Proxy
A quick question for anybody who wants to answer, just because I'm trying to get my creative juices flowing...

What's your favorite movie or movies that was a box office flop? I'm not talking about like "Man of Steel made $700 million rather than $1 billion," I'm talking about movies that bombed.

I’ll be honest, as much as I’ve taken a strong stance against the USA I draw the line at bourbon.

We went to Japan to go to Disney. I won’t be back to the USA until that guy is gone.

I’m not drinking the peaty bog water that is scotch and I’m not a huge fan of rye either.

A man has his limits
Canada is, oops, was, the largest international customer for bourbon.

We don't take being threatened and abused lightly.

And we are low key vindictive.

And no, we aren't sorry.
I’m ready for the GOP to blame this on “woke” rather than tariffs

Watching King of the Hill, I think it's safe to say the Simpsons really borked it by not closing up shop after season 12 or so and coming back down the road with a reboot featuring all the heavy hitters that made the show what it was in its prime

Sipping a bourbon. Watching a campfire with a lake in the background. Listening to my kids run down to the water to look for bats.

Can’t be better than this.

Has anyone ever been stopped (like ever) to see if they are using purple gas on the highway?
Alberta - “We give farmers massive discounts on fuel but also mark it to make sure that it’s only used on farms!”

Also Alberta - “Hey, if we stopped marking it you all would just be honest right?”

I heard from my cousin that if you stare into a clock and say "Flava Flav! Flava Flav! Flava Flav" at exactly midnight his face will appear and he'll yell "YEEAAH BOOYYY" so I tried it last night and he did appear and looked me right in the eyes and gently whispered "it's actually Flavor Flav"

It me.
I live in Alberta and am absolutely, diametrically opposed to the conservative government and culture of the province that seeks to pursue oil extraction at all costs yet were I to die in a wildfire exacerbated by wildfire it would deemed by some as karmic.
