Ben Affleck's Holden McNeil goatee‘s the answer but I'm not sure what the question is. Politics. Humor. Great at @ replies, not great at regular posts.
If you want to read the laughable failure of LLMs today, moving from strawberry to cranberry was hilarious.

Check out the next post in the quoted thread also.
Two out of three AIs agree with you.

The third needed clarification after botsplaining to me about nutrition but eventually disagreed with you.

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

I appreciate the "women don't like the vehicle" quote becoming a meme.

But nothing beats "So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is." and the editor note that follows about the guy's January 6th involvement.

Worthwhile thread.
🧵The Trump regime knows that they are destroying the economy. They will never admit this in public, but they do in private.

Treasury secretary Scott Bessent was photographed reading a text from AgSec Brooke Rollins saying that Trump's tariffs made China shift soybean purchases to Argentina.

First he incites his followers to hang Mike Pence and then he places a tariff on couches? Man this guy hates his vice presidents.

I don't like living in a country where people assassinate people based on their politics.

I don't like living in a country where gun violence is an expectation, not a remote worry.

I personally don't like jokes about this stuff, or schadenfreude posts, but I don't judge those who do too much.

The chances of Musk achieving this are the same of the chances of him sending a manned mission to Mars by 2024.

Cost of Trump's D.C. Occupation: $1.1M per day.

Cost to operate public housing for D.C.'s entire homeless population: $169,226 per day.

It's not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

The Dems aren't interested in finding someone who isn't deeply tied to global finance capital because the Dems are deeply tied to global finance capital.

The best we can hope for is Dem voters make their voices heard during primaries, and the DNC won't completely ignore primary results.
This was a big scandal in Canada. I know it pales to everything that Trump has done, but is it impossible for the Dems to find someone that isn't deeply tied to global finance capital? That might actually look out for consumers or the middle class, let alone the poor? It's not him.

Besides the obvious inequity and human rights issues...

I just can't understand why people want to open the door to the government regulating decisions between patients and doctors when doctors are following the (practically) consensus medical opinion.
felt like these needed to be one post. this is the current TX medicaid model of determining who gets access to hormone therapy.

rogan, rfk, & whoever you want to joke about will be fine. trans people will die, though.

in the US laws are always enforced unevenly. that’s how we do things here.

🧵 This is a perfect example of how disordered discourse reshapes democratic politics, not by policy failure, but by the performative targeting of identity. Let’s unpack what’s happening.
one of the most insane normalized aspects of our political climate is politicians going after their own constituents in the name of anti-wokeness. what are we doing here

Rare for a public poll, we did a survey experiment to test whether priming respondents about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia impacts support for Trump's broader immigration agenda. It does. Support for blanket deportations fell 20 points after hearing about Garcia's case.

The purpose of the deportations we have been seeing has not been to fight antisemitism, but rather to use antisemitism as a beachhead to eventually do away with foreign students altogether, using Jews as a pretext for a non-Jewish political agenda.

EXCLUSIVE: The Trump administration is discussing plans to try to block certain colleges from having any foreign students if it decides too many are "pro-Hamas," senior Justice and State Department officials tell Axios.
Exclusive: Trump's "pro-Hamas" purge could block foreign students from colleges
The planned purge is another escalation of Trump's aggressive crackdown on immigration and antisemitism that civil libertarians say stifles campus speech.

What could Schumer do? Here's what I'd do:

Get every Dem in front of the Capitol today and say this: "Every single one of us will vote for a clean one-month funding bill right now. What we will not do is cave to Republican threats to shut down the government unless we give a blank check to Musk."

Musk claims Social Security is a "gigantic magnet to attract illegal immigrants."

In fact, immigrants here illegally do not collect Social Security. But they pay $25.7 billion a year into it, a recent study found, so these undocumented workers are actually subsidizing Americans.
