Electoral College defenders will sometimes put down their crayons to say that if the EC were abolished, Democrats would only campaign in large cities trying to get as many people to turn out as possible. That is both true and unquestionably one of the best things that could happen to US governance.

I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

In the 5 months since I wrote this, things have only gotten worse, with adults stripped of their healthcare at a moment's notice, universities firing teachers & banning the mere mention of trans people, & Democrats helping pass further bans and the first discrimination & segregation laws since 1996.
It's just a sports ban.
It's just a bathroom ban.
It's just a healthcare for kids ban.
It's just a military service ban.
It's just a federal jobs ban.
It's just a university housing ban.
It's just a passport & visa ban.
It's just one Constitutional right.
