Today, after @propublica.org published this story, the camp was raided to confiscate letters from the children.

Elon Musk is a monstrous hatemonger and if you're still merrily posting bullshit on X like it's a normal place I'm judging you.
The world's richest man is broadcasting eliminationist rhetoric about a tiny, vulnerable minority, and virtually no one is going to treat it as a scandal. It's just normal now.

online arguments aren’t about convincing the other party. they’re about establishing a psychosexual dominance over them that will burden them every time they see your posts from that point forward.
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with

If anyone wants an example of the kind of stuff I wish more Democrats would do when it comes to defending trans rights, look no further than this from @jayapal.house.gov
My Trans Bill of Rights protects the freedom for all trans people to live as their full, authentic selves. It’s time to get this passed!

One reason Republicans are so laser targeted on trans kids existing, is that trans kids existing requires accepting the bodily autonomy and consent of children.

Which is something republicans absolutely can't do, since they are pedophiles.

Their transphobia and pedophilia is them being consistent

This is such a low bar! And it’s part of what should be the broader Dem agenda:
1. Revert Trump’s anti-equality policies writ large, e.g. trans rights, labor, repro, immigration, etc
2. Commit to fighting against future erosion of those rights
3. Support legislation codifying those rights into law
Again, all I'm asking is that any Democrat who wants my vote support 1. Reverting Trump's anti-trans policies, 2. Commit to fighting against the future erosion of trans rights, and 3. Support legislation codifying trans rights into law.

Very weird how many of you centrists think that's unreasonable

If you are wondering what words the all-male Congress found so "blasphemous" that they felt compelled to literally scrape them off the monument, they were: ''Woman, first denied a soul, then called mindless, now arisen, declared herself an entity to be reckoned.''
On this day in 1921, Congress reluctantly accepted a sculpture memorializing women’s 19th A victory. Congress relegated the memorial to the Capitol’s crypt & painted over the feminist inscription. The statue stayed entombed in the crypt for 76 years. The inscription is still not restored. #WeTheMen

As if "correct natural trajectory" was a thing! The goal should be "healthy and comfortable in one's own skin" not whatever "natural" nonsense Cass is making up.
"if they socially transition too early we think they can get locked onto a trajectory that may not have been the correct natural trajectory for them"

ICE is taking the rare ‘pro cancer’ position, I see
A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

Not one dime for this cruelty.
