People sneer so much at this basic-ass shit sometimes and like, I get it, maybe to you it’s very basic, rudimentary, not illuminating. But I promise you there are people out there who need to hear it.
it has been since probably the early 2010s since i regularly heard people saying 101 level phrases like "the patriarchy hurts men too" and we should bring it back bc american culture has regressed so much since then that it's pretty pathetic tbh

Let's rejoin the EU. For this as well as every other reason.
In incredible news, the European Parliament has voted overwhelmingly for "The Full Recognition Of Trans Women As Women."

Even the center-right European People's Party voted for the declaration.

It will form a foundation for their position at the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Our latest.
European Parliament Votes Overwhelmingly For "The Full Recognition Of Trans Women As Women"
The resolution, though nonbinding, is a significant shot at those who seek to erode transgender rights on the continent.

Follow the money onto campus folks - it’s all happening.

Does make me wonder about other heterodox activities we’ve seen over the past couple of years.

This is the link to the consultation on the changes to KCSIE. Let's flood the consultation with responses pointing out why it's so problematic and will make children and young people less safe. I started teaching when section 28 was still in place. Not again!

Worth pointing out that very few people nominate for the Hugos, even out of those eligible to do so. (If you are eligible, nominate! Even if you make the grievous error of not nominating mine.)
You can indeed, and should, nominate my short story, The Thirteenth Time, for a Hugo. Not because it will win, and not because anyone else will, but because you know it's the right thing to do... 😅
Nominating for Hugos? Here's all eligible BCS stories, their category, nominating links, link to our BCS Authors Elsewhere posts. (Pls DON'T nominate BCS for Semiprozine; we recused. You can nominate Scott for Editor Short Form if you find him worthy.) www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/2025/12/07/2...

That's right! Every single "AI tried to deceive us" story is entirely a result of directly training the models to respond in a certain way to create this specific reaction. This era stinks

This entire 'debate' is so maddening. We have been promised that a groundswell of rushed, dissatisfied detransitioners was about to emerge for nearly a decade.

Not only have they never materialized, but academic research continues to show small numbers, long assessments and miniscule regret rates.

I come from a Labour family. Every person in generations has voted Labour.

I want the Labour Party to die. I want every one of their MPs to lose their jobs. Every single one of them They have betrayed everything they are supposed to stand for, and they are all complicit.

Fuck em.

a clinic that provided services to 12,000 people being closed on the basis of 8 complaints perfectly captures the nature of the uk 'trans-debate'

NHS closed Tavistock over care complaints – there were only eight
An eye-opening FOI report has revealed that just eight people complained about the Tavistock gender clinic's care provision in 10 years.

To address a real voter fraud problem, look into how the GOP rounds up old folks to vote.

When my father was in a nursing home with dementia, every single resident was visited by a GOP GOTV operative to get their absentee ballots filled out.

"Who did you vote for, Dad?"

"I voted? I don't know."
