It's inexplicable from the point of view that they are a business and they should want to attract fans and sponsors.

Perhaps the answer is that the Americas should be called something that honors the original people, not European colonialism.

If there's one thing you can say about social media, it's that it has allowed people who are bad at thinking to more easily locate other people who are also bad at thinking and gather into poorly-thinking groups where they think poorly together in a self-reinforcing manner.

As a child I was in Washington D.C. for the bicentennial. My parents thought it would be good for us to learn of the founding and so on. We also stayed in Williamsburg, and to some extent this sparked my interest in history.

Also, if the new livery for your massively expensive F1 project is incredibly dull, don't spend a fortune on a single advertisement that relies on visuals of the car to convey some sort of sense of excitement.
