Creating a new party is hard. You can't just Jill Stein that shit, run for president every four years, and expect to overthrow the system. It doesn't work that way. We have the proof. What has the Libertarian Party done? The Greens? Hell, look at how well No Labels did in 2024.
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:
1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.

It's gonna be underrated in the historiography, if we still have that in the future, how lucky Trump et al were to have found themselves opposed by this group of Democrats. A stoppable force meets a moveable, even conciliatory, object.

Senate Democrats asked for a year of ACA subsidies and were told to fuck off.
So they came back and asked for a pinky promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that they will assuredly lose?
Seriously?

From what I have seen so far this does not seem like a good deal:

There is something deeply broken about an economy that creates trillionaires while people get buried under the cost of living and 42 million go hungry. The ultra-rich should realize that my Billionaires Income Tax, aimed at ensuring they pay their fair share, represents the moderate path forward.
Tesla shareholders have approved a pay package that could make CEO Elon Musk, already the world’s richest person, the world’s first trillionaire. https://cnn.it/43KZnkA

Also worth noting that the so-called "compromise" position boils down to "Trans-people can't exist in X space," whether it be sports, bathrooms, etc. You cannot compromise on one's existence because there is no middle ground. One either exists or doesn't.
I have watched as so-called "compromise" positions on transgender people's rights have failed over and over--in statehouses, the Biden White House, and in liberal rhetoric. There is no middle ground acceptable to the politicians, activists, and billionaires obsessed with trans people and our lives.
