I appreciate the sentiment, but it fails to realize that most parents would rather ignore the causes of their children's depression if addressing it means challenging their worldview. This is why so many parents are fine with their kids being suicidal if the alternative is that they are out as trans
As a comparison - there are VERY few suicide deaths in children. 10-20 for kids under 10, and ~500 for those 10-14. It would be CRUEL to say that last-line treatments for depression (ECT, TMS, ketamine, etc) shouldn't be given to those kids most in need of them.

In ~20 yrs my views moved from hard core conservative all the way to here.
The people who said ITYS, “you’re not doing it right” and “you’re an asshole” were sand in the bearings.

For the first time, Islamic law is being used in this Malaysian state to initiate criminal proceedings. The “offence” is punishable by a fine of hundreds of euros and up to two years in prison.
