Given the grim news in the political reporting at Teen Vogue, we need to support media like The Flytrap even more!
WE ARE SO FREAKING CLOSE, can we find 105 people to subscribe to The Flytrap until the end of the day so we can get to work to create feminist journalism for y'all for another year? the-flytrap.ghost.io/chomp

as reported in webworm today, the nz media council has ruled against RNZ, saying it lacked balance and fairness in its reporting over the death of trans teen alex. hopefully this encourages RNZ to look at all their reporting on trans issues - they need to (www.webworm.co/trainhopping/)

I have been boosting Bevan’s work for some time & am dismayed that there seems to be little interest by media to pick it up.

THIS needs to shared widely amongst #nzpol

The overriding of proper process and underhanded inclusion of colonial power in a govt curriculum document is an outrage.
Who changed the senior English curriculum just before it went out for consultation?

Why did they erase Māori and Pacific authors and replace them with Shakespeare and 19th century texts?
Recapturing the Senior English Curriculum
2024 had been a good year for Stanford. The speed bump that was the outcry over the senior English curriculum and the lack of consultation had been smoothly managed by her, and she was on a roll wi…

Sorry. The bar to gun ownership cannot be high enough. Owning a gun brings certain very significant responsibilities. If you can't obey a few fucking traffic rules, then you are completely unfit to own a gun. Ditto if you email your police mate to help out.

A reminder that the brutal occupation of #WestPapua and the ongoing persecution of Indigenous Papuans is a horror that is largely undocumented & invisibilised. Like so much black suffering, furthest away in proximity to Whiteness, their revolution has NOT been televised.

Tom Phillips is dead after a police shooting, and his three children have been found alive. The immediate danger is over. But a larger question lingers: who decided Tom Phillips was safe enough to be left alone with his children - and why?

Who decided Tom Phillips was safe enough to leave alone with his kids?
Experts are calling for a full inquiry into the case, saying questions have to be asked about what agencies knew.
