Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Seeing articles on homelessness.
In 2020 the NZ govt launched an evidence based, fully funded Homelessness Action Plan. It had support of iwi, local govt and communities. It recognised the complexity and trauma of intergenerational poverty. So please journalists, ask what happened to that … 1/2

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

New Zealand Govt....take fucking notes
Until 2006, all of South Australia's 🇦🇺 electricity⚡️ came from coal and gas.

Things have changed dramatically since then. Today, more than two-thirds come from solar and wind ☀️

Coal is already gone. A sign of things to come for other power sectors.

Your dehumanising headline serves as propaganda for a government deliberately underfunding & reducing access to services for our most vulnerable, in service of wealthy people.
Challenging that erosion should be the story; that it’s not says something about the erosion of our humanity.

And finally, here are the dastardly battle geese in question. Picture taken after they got bored of terrorising the car and headed off to hiss at a tree that looked at them funny. Why? No one knows the whims of feathery surly dinosaurs. They are mysterious. (More in alt text)

Shops don’t close themselves.

It’s not 61 shops, it’s people closing livelihoods, it’s staff losing their jobs, it’s creditors not being paid, it’s parents with no income facing the expense of the start of the school year and a heartless systemically unhelpful WINZ.
