I was thinking about this a lot recently: one of the big step forwards you need to make with any skillset is just sort of being confident enough to get on with it and push past the anxiety. And one of the things LLMs specifically target is soothing that anxiety in a counterproductive way

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I don't think Walt Disney was a particularly good person or even a very good artist, but he WAS very willing to spend a shitload of money to develop art and technology to chase his impossible dreams and THAT'S what made Disney actually innovative and interesting.
