OVER A MILLION USERS

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

🚨BREAKING News: A federal judge has permanently blocked the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard in Portland, Oregon.

Judge Immergut ruled that Trump’s team failed to prove that protesters were interfering with federal policy, a landmark blow to his crackdown strategy. No paywall

Godammit. All of these people need to go to jail. And Bovino needs to be sent to The Hague.

ICE/CPB thugs tackled a nonverbal autistic man outside a Family Dollar in Chicago’s Little Village claiming he was “noncompliant.”

Witnesses begged them to stop. “Why they beating up this special boy?” one worker cried. “He comes in every day for a treat. He has the mind of a child.” 🤬🤬🤬

Harding literally died from stress at the prospect of facing accountability for an infinitesimal slice of the corruption that happens every day in this administration.
We sent the presidencies of Harding and Nixon straight to hell for a fraction of the corruption that happens every hour of every day on camera in this regime

1. This is a thread on freedom, and how easy it is to lose.

Over the past 2,000 years in Europe, there have been few periods and places of freedom. For much of the time we lived under highly oppressive tyrannies of various kinds, whether small or grand, local or imperial, secular or religious.🧵

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.
you ever think about the works progress administration? I sure do. I wish that was a thing now. I would be so glad to contribute my labor to like. A random ass local bridge

What if - and I'm just freewheeling here - what if it was bad to lie constantly, brutalize immigrants, starve people, destroy the economy, murder foreigners with impunity, throw millions of people out of work, and make health care and school and housing unaffordable, regardless of the Epstein files

I keep thinking that if we had a million dollars a day to work with for the next several millennia we would make damn fucking sure our entire species had the lowest 2 Maslow levels and then work on the next 2.

These ghouls are not like us

"Beyond being the 24th consecutive grant of emergency relief to the Trump administration, the cryptic ruling in Orr is a reminder of just how bankrupt the Court’s proffered justifications are in these cases—both legally and in other ways, too."

Me on today's ugly #SCOTUS ruling in Trump v. Orr:
189. The Breezy Inequity of Trump v. Orr
The Supreme Court's latest grant of emergency relief to the Trump administration illustrates in technicolor the direct (and ugly) consequences of the two different ways it keeps messing up "equity."

probably not good that we allowed a legal movement based on a lingering host of grotesque resentments to fester for several decades
BREAKING: The Sixth Circuit, in a 10-7 en banc decision, holds that an Ohio school district's anti-bullying policy that requires students to use children's preferred pronouns is likely unconstitutional on these facts.

Judge Murphy, a Trump appointee, writes the court's decision.

The human brain cannot even really conceive what a trillion dollars is, but it’s obscene. If he spends one million dollars a day, it would take 2,740 years to spend it, assuming no interest

Want to be ashamed & enraged?

Of course you don’t.

But you should read this thread, which will probably make you ashamed for our country & enraged by what’s being done in our name.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.
