We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

Local assisted living facilities are taking additional security measures because the residents don’t want their care to be interrupted when ICE abducts their staff. Schools are closed for the safety of students, faculty, and staff. There is no facet of society or stage of life unaffected.
Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

The irony
Looks like ICE is now cracking down on … Native Americans.

This letter was just posted by the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North/South Dakota:

“Our Nation is a sovereign government and our members are not immigrants. We are not subject to immigration enforcement on our own lands.”

It's why you have UN agencies, election observers, media witnesses, NGOs, etc. It's why bad actor governments get rid of these groups, and it's one of the reasons you can tell who's a bad actor -- when they start kicking these groups out.

I have covered one or two governments that have lied about what they are doing. It's easy enough to just say: "The administration claimed x, but this is what witnesses saw." You often have to spend a lot of time in hospitals counting and examining bodies because governments do lie.
"Administration assertions seem to run counter to media evidence and the consensus of the vast majority of reporting on the killing thus far."

A bombshell new video shows that Good was not actually blocking ICE; instead, she waved for the agents to “go around” her vehicle after dropping someone off.

However, the agents swarmed, pulling on the doors and demanding she “get out of the fucking car!” trib.al/StJkKeI
