"Most people stayed with me in the bad times, but I had some people who were disloyal. And those people I'm going to destroy. Just for the sake of destroying them. If I ever have the opportunity."

Yet another sign that tech firms are desperately trying to expand their user base — in this case by pandering to thoughtful, deliberative people, many of whom have felt themselves overlooked in the race for AI-fueled, instant gratification.

A Minnesota climate change indicator:

The date of peak fall color has been moving ever later, as summer extends further each year.

In the 1970s, the peaks in Carver County (just west of Minneapolis) clustered in late September – early Oct.

In the 2020s, the date is pushing well into mid–October.

President Sharaa of Syria gifted Trump replicas of ancient Syrian artifacts including the first written musical composition and the first ancient alphabetic writing.

President Trump gave him Trump cologne him and his wife (and then asked how many wives he has).

Great piece, Greg.

Has it been noted that this is the second Gatsby-themed party Trump has thrown at Mar-a-Lago? He also had one in 1995 when he opened it as a club, after having lived there 10 years.

And, there's an apocryphal story connecting murdered pedophile Stanford White and Mar-a-Lago. 1/2

Made for tv authoritarianism at one of Chicago's top landmarks and tourist spots. They even brought weapons and guard dogs along for the photo shoot. The 'Little Village' shout is especially offensive. And...what an incredible waste of taxpayer funds.
Good catch by @colinbphoto.bsky.social.
Astonishing: Bovino and his agents showed up at the Bean this morning to pose for pictures. While Border Patrol snapped photos, one agent shouted, “Everyone say, ‘Little Village!’” The neighborhood where they are least welcome and most acutely felt. blockclubchicago.org/2025/11/10/b...
Border Patrol Agents Pose At 'The Bean' For Apparent Photo Op
The photo op came after agents tear-gassed a Little Village street and were spotted in the area numerous times. At the Bean, one agent shouted, "Everyone say, Little Village!"

Essential reading. Donald Trump dispatches as his ambassador to Copenhagen a man who has been established by Danish intelligence to be deeply engaged in secret plans financed privately by Peter Thiel for an American invasion and occupation of Greenland, writes Danish intel analyst Jacob Kaarsbo.

Denmark now hosts a US ambassador who personally supports the idea of US takeover of a part of our Kingdom

"He promised things that Europeans take for granted, but Americans are told are impossible."

"Mamdani was described as an American politician who 'finally' sounded normal..."
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as normal and expected

Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given

What do you think an ICE agent does after a full workday of snatching parents away from their children? Maybe they unwind by plucking the wings off of bats, or leaving out bowls of antifreeze for pets, before gooning to a simultaneous play of Hotel Rwanda and Come and See, muttering "I'm a good guy"

The AFL-CIO should start throwing some money towards labor journalism. If it was done right (i.e. with them accepting that journalists must have full editorial control over what’s published, whether or not union leaders like what they have to say) it could really have such a hugely positive impact

“Mamdani got called all the same things—communist, radical, dangerous extremist who doesn’t understand America—and he just… floated above it…

He just kept talking about free buses and childcare...

He showed people what he stood for rather than spending all his energy explaining what he wasn’t.”

Yes, the quoted text almost infantilizes Trump, as if he’s a 3-year-old who wandered outside in the rain without his galoshes. I guess if one were to be charitable, one could say that it just reflects the implicit assumption on the part of rational humans that Trump is inherently a noxious moron.
I'm still trying to parse this formulation because "heartburn" seems like a mild thing to cause for a major political party when a significant part of its base is allied with a despicable racist and antisemite, but also because by dining with him isn't Trump the one causing the heartburn?
