If the whole point of the Blue Labour project was to tack rightwards in order to prove their 'electability' and 'seriousness' to the Founts of Public Opinion - but now they're still printing screeching op-eds as absurd as any under Corbyn (as we all predicted) - what was the point of the project?

It is IMO not possible to operate any kind of meaningful democracy when your national press is a joke and a travesty, but your mileage on that may vary. I think it’s incontestable that it is impossible to govern well and effectively, while being in hock to these pantomime clowns.

This is an argument to put more money into the legal system, employ more people, reopen shut down courts, not to completely destroy the bedrock it is based upon.
Darren Jones is asked about the proposal to scrap trial by jury for all but the most serious crimes.

Jones says he won't comment on leaks but goes on to say there's a huge backlog of cases & a need for timely justice (which is the argument being used to justify these proposals)

I personally find her remarks about people taking the wrong lessons from holocaust education even more outrageous.

According to her, taking from that the lesson that it's wrong for a powerful party to oppress/murder a weaker party is wrong.

These are the voters that Labour strategists have made very clear over a long period of time that they don't want any more, and it's a message that has now been heard
I've been out canvassing quite a lot in London lately. Labour's vote has absolutely evaporated.... it is quite extraordinary to go to places where Labour were on 50-60% of the vote at the last locals and find nobody, or virtually nobody, supporting them.
