I like the Carry On films but the lore is too confusing, impossible for modern audiences to accept these people could play a major part in the French Revolution AND lose their bras on camping holidays

Selling your share in the one company that makes stuff in the AI bubble to go all in for Open AI very funny
Japanese giant SoftBank said Tuesday it has sold its entire stake in tech giant Nvidia for $5.83 billion.

All the big journo politics podcasts are like this: every now and then they’ll say something completely uncontroversial within their own circles that sounds insane to listeners, because the atmosphere is - we’re down the pub with our mates.
The News Agents is a great case study of centrism because they actively describe how the sausage is made and yet none of their audience say 'Wait - what the fuck do you mean you ran a story because some Labour spad told you to?'

People like Maitlis love to wax lyrical about ideological capture when the fact is they let themselves be led by greed and hatred for the other into spearheading the attack on Trans rights.

Sure, though for the past 3 decades (?) the idea of a national culture has p much been undermined by successive governments : cuts to arts funding, walling off access to creative industries to the richest in society, making the UK incredibly difficult to be a creative worker etc.
I reckon a shared national popular culture is just as important (if not more important) than a fact based, impartial news service for liberal democracy to work.

She'll want credit for ending i the 2 child t, she won't get it because she spent a year ardently resisting it burning immense political capital
NEW: Rachel Reeves signals she intends to remove the two-child cap *in full*

"I don't think a child should be penalised because they're in a bigger family through no fault of their own," she tells BBC.

It’s so so so weird and frankly sickening how Brianna Ghey’s legacy has become about banning phones in school, a thing that has absolutely nothing to do with her murder
On Brianna's 19th birthday, this morning I joined @cheshirepcc.bsky.social and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project Phone Free Education campaign at the launch at Jodrell Bank of a new £150k initiative to make Cheshire the first county in the UK where ALL state high schools have lockable phone pouches.

Are we getting close to noticing yet
Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?
