This should be instructive. The democratic tent does not have room in it for communists, it does not have room in it for socialists, they will do everything they can to defeat you if you are even the meanest, behindhand reformist demsoc, but if you're a nazi they will welcome you with open arms.

Far superior analysis to anything you’ll read in the Times
it's easy to dunk on what is a risible, even unconscionable headline

it seems to me however that the emails throw a spotlight not so much on a "lost" New York, but rather a _new_ one -- the NYC that emerged after the 1980s, when the Reagan Revolution & globalization transformed the city,

David Lynch being a total fucking coffee freak is so funny, he's characterizing people with it in such effective shorthand. The Northwestern Hotel has bootleg La Pavoni machines, Colonel Briggs has an electric percolator while Pete has a stovetop model, and Harry has the most insane carafe ever

And because there’s no room in the overhead bins, the airlines beg people to gate-check their carry-on roller bags free of charge. It’s so ludicrous.

Unchecked presidential power to use the vast national security infrastructure for poorly justified murders of civilians is a bipartisan perogative and has been since the Obama-era signature strikes, and also the present stake of sky murder for murder's sake is both precedented and unique.

one thing that I think we really don't think about is if Trump fucks up America's macro privileges or role in the international system and Americans are forced to end up dealing with a economic system that doesn't allow for the same old fiscal fixes as before
god I remember the fandom Russian zoomers on Twitter during the start of the war who were either "what can I do, I can't be held responsible" or "wow it's so mean that the West sanctioned us from our favourite fandoms"

The end of dollar hegemony will transform U.S. debt from a fiscal drag into a high-yield fusion bomb.

For decades dollarization has generated structural demand for U.S. treasuries, depressing the interest rates the U.S. needs to offer to service its debt.

there oughtta be some research that regards the 'rising up' part - because i'd bet good money that if someone doesn't experience those boundaries shifting as they age, then (not to go all evopsych but) that may be a pretty strong indicator one has found a pedophile, like 'stand up in court' strong
Speaking as a ridiculously heterosexual 33-year old man, I would describe my own reflexive attraction range to be from about 20-21 current absolute minimum to 55-56 current absolute maximum - as I've aged, years gradually rise on both ends.

Yes. That's because that was terrorism. ICE are terrorists.
Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem should resign and be criminally charged, according to critics who seized on a report revealing that zero people who were arrested in a high-profile raid were charged with a crime.
