My dad is only in his early 60s, but he learned today that 40 years as a programmer has given him such a bad case of tech neck that his spinal cord is compressed and his joints are fused to the point where even a minor car accident could cause paralysis from the neck down.

To answer why didnβt we put the hammer down on Trump, et al, for January 6 β itβs because the U.S. flinches when itβs time to hold power accountable for treasonous or destructive actions. Rs giving up Reconstruction to win a prez race, Ford pardoning Nixon, no trials for bankers in the 2007 crisisβ¦
We donβt have say itβs like Nazi Germany or be surprised at presumably strong leaders who knuckle under. Selling out the masses for power or oppression is a long US tradition. Example: election of 1876, explained on a marker at the site of the Democratic convention in St. Louis (text in alt text)

I love sharing a meal as a communal experience, and having to take my phone out to scan a QR code and look through a website/PDF takes me away from present company in a way that is both undesirable and entirely avoidable.
