two great ways to drastically reduce dust:

1. build to passivhaus standards
2. allow dense housing blocks away from arterials or highways
Thanks to Erica Hartmann for leading a newly published paper, "Ten questions concerning indoor dust."

What is it?
Where does it come from?
How does it mediate environmental exposures?
How does it affect chemicals indoors?

One conclusion we can draw from this is that half of Ontarians trust vibes more than data. It should be a little embarrassing for a *polling firm* to not pick up on that.

New Abacus Data polling finds Ontarians prefer traffic calming infrastructure over automated speed cameras.

Half say measures like speed bumps, roundabouts and police enforcement are more effective.

Decided to use public transport tonight. So messy. So unreliable. So infrequent. It’s no bloody wonder people have to use cars. In Any other European city you can hop on and off without thinking and checking. If govt want us out of cars they have to improve this #speirgorm

Dr. Andrew van der Westhuizen might still be alive if this was the law here. Instead, he was blamed for going too fast downhill on Highland Rd on the separated bike lane when a truck turned across the path and killed him.
Drivers stop at crosswalks in Poland now because they passed presumed liability, and they ran a public awareness campaign to promote it. The driver is presumed to be at fault if they hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The zebra stripes in Poland have magical power that the ones in America don’t. Even on a fast divided highway, a pedestrian in the shadows, well back from the curb, can stop traffic.

Developers rarely challenge exclusionary zoning, instead relying on fair housing organizations to do the work for them. But now that Trump is moving to defund those orgs, the industry & their allies are itching for a fight? And decide this is a good time to set up a constitutional challenge to IZ?
Landlords frequently challenge programs meant to ease poverty and housing insecurity by claiming they're unconstitutional takings of private property. But as @uwlawdemocracy.bsky.social's @bridgetlavender.bsky.social explains, state courts have largely rejected these claims.
