What’s interesting is we seem to find building “conventional” buildings is just fine, as are the contents we then fill them with, and vehicles, equipment we put in attached garages.
In a severe fire, such houses literally explode; takes 3-5 minutes to be reduced from standing to a pile of ashes.

Is @mark-carney.bsky.social aware of this economic and climate risk?
Let me see what page he mentions that:

Fascinating.
I’m sure this map has nothing to do with it…

James Howard Kunstler nailed this very theme in his book, The Geography of Nowhere (1993)
We love to vacation in Europe, and vote down every attempt to build it here (Canada and the U.S., at least).

Yesterday in the Netherlands, we saw an antifascist celebrating Canadian antifascists: the mayor of the Berg en Dal urging people everywhere to resist oppression and totalitarianism, while celebrating the Canadian soldiers who did just that in 1944-45, liberating the Netherlands.

An expression of gratitude, a warning, a spur to action, hope and dedication opposing complacency.

Apparently daycares are bad.
The design sucks, true.
